That's amazing about the medals. I noticed too regarding Ablett - Broad was really careful not to bump or tackle him hard at times. We set the standard, regardless of what others think of us.

I love this.... If you think about it tactically it was actually brilliant too. They were really a man down with him on the ground. He couldn’t mark or tackle. And any pressure he was in immense pain just from being gently tackled. He set up one goal with a great hand pass but that was about it.

Yep they are a classy bunch of blokes. Which is why it has been so annoying for the media and the AFL industry to drag them down at every opportunity for a few mistakes made. They didn't have to line up for Ablett; they'd just won their 3rd flag in 4 years! They didn't have to hide their medals; most people wouldn't even think about doing that and would mean no disrespect if they left them out. They would have been well within their rights to target his shoulder. This is a Grand Final; take no prisoners within the rules in the heat of the game and that wouldn't have been breaking any rules. If you're on the ground you are fair game; if you're injured go to the bench. Particularly after they watched one of our most important players knocked out by an opposition player (even if it was accidental) in the first few minutes so we played the whole game a man down.

These blokes are absolute warriors and they have earned the enormous respect of the entire footy world. Anyone who doesn't respect them is not worth any of their concern.

Ant we are ‘head & shoulders ‘ above ALL other clubs.
IN EVERYTHING
Absolutely!! I was reflecting today on just how far our club has progressed.
I remember the destructive trade wars with the scum, humiliating thrashings in the late 80s, endemic cultural problems and acceptance of mediocrity throughout the 90s, being labelled the worst side ever in 2010 when Dimma first took over, hitting rock bottom in 2016......
Then out of the darkness, came a redemption and resurrection none of us could’ve imagined. We are again a feared and dominant club with an outstanding culture based on humility and bonding!!
I have supported this club for 40 years, never have I been more proud as a Tiger supporter!

At least twice he took his eye off the ball before taking possession , fumbled and killed the play or lost the ball.
Yeah, probably not the time for it at the moment, but Dan is at the crossroads of his Tiger career I do believe, which is unfortunate because we all love the RIOLI name associated with the Football Club.

He safe as houses with Jnr coming in.

Daniel will mentor him and it will snap him out of whatever head space he's been in this year for mine and have him focusssed to set the example..

I'm thinking junior muight be the catalyst for the RFC getting Daniel Rioli back in 2021.

I reckon these players have gotten back some of the sacrifices this year by being able to enjoy a true premiership celebration.

No functions, no family day, just a true celebration. Wound the clock back to the 80s.
Yeah, watching 360 ATM.
Just being in their own company and not having to worry about a Family Day and the tsunami of the Melbourne media, would be quite relaxing. They certainly deserve that.

Classic stuff, reminds me a little of when I had a week off from playing and my team mates and I would head to Kardinia Park just to watch Ablett Snr play in person for a change. I can't recall how many times we would see him do something freakish and just turn to each other and without a word spoken, just smile and nod having known you'd just seen something only a handful of players in your lifetime are capable of doing.

Craigy, I'd completely forgotten about that and thus you are probably correct. Well let's hope that turn of events is enough of an incentive to get Daniels head back in the game and show some of his earlier form from past years.

Craig Jennings is another David King. Great at telling you after the event how and why it was won.

All year he has raved about Scott being the best match day coach in the AFL, he raved about the cats being the best side and he tipped Geelong. He tipped Port to beat us as well.
Yeah he is a dud Jennings. Throws a few buzz words in and repeats some phrases that he has heard others say. Not surprised at all that he doesn't have a job at club land.

I know it has been mentioned here on PRE but losing a rotation for an entire game hasn't got much attention. Teams use that as excuse for losing games at times.
