cant understand why Jacob did not get a game this week v the scum

he only played 18mins for the whole JLT series, did what he could in that game - got a wrap from dermi re: his hardness and how much he loves to compete ..................then during the week the captain gave him a wrap saying how well he is going during the preseason .a standout!!!.................and still left out of the team this week!!

he is not the worst .................????????

give him a go!! ffs!
Why give him a go when he's not up to the higher standard we are setting? Yes Dermi identified his two attributes but they aren't enough any more. I have not seen him this year so perhaps he is improving but on last year he has a long way to go. He can't keep his feet in a contested footy situation, his agility and delivery by hand or foot is nothing special, not a great mark and he's not quick enough in his thinking or by foot. If he's not the worst he is in the bottom few. Contract is up at end of year and no other AFL club would be interested.

Townsend is central to our premiership hopes this year. Along with Kane 'Gary Ablett' Lambert. These are glamourous pack-busting inside-outside goal-kicking mids who can pony up against even relegated AFL mids. After losing the bankable Andrew Moore we are lucky we've still got Towner. And Gary Ablett will probably be dropped for Shai or Jack Graham soon enough.

Townsend is a much more valuable player than most realise. We need him.

I was glad to see him get a run in the Escort Cup. He did well, clearly improved from last year's efforts. But still not there. So maybe a premiership for him.

Jt is a genuine list clogging VFA standard footballer

Right up there but not not as good as lambert and Macron

DELIST

Much better than Marcon, niko.

mmm.

When it is all said and done, Macron may well have a more decorated career.

Hope I am wrong Jack, would love to see you go orf if he makes it

Towner will be playing in a premiership this year, niko. ;D (He'll probably never make an AFL player.) But this thing McRae is doing in the reserves is very good. We are in a good place. Values and standards.

After Kane 'Gary Ablett' Lambert, Towner is our best player.

He's playing the Caddy role, nswtige. He's been a big improver this year.

I hope he's faster than Caddy. Gee Caddy looks slow out there.

He's definitely quicker, PT. But not as good a footballer at this stage. Still, Towner is doing the good thing - improving.

Improving? He's in his 6th season on an AFL list. You'd want a but more than improvement by season 6.

He was a suburban footballer when we got him, tim. One of the worst players in the AFL. He's now an A grade VFL player. About 1000% improved.

Is it too much to hope that the Hardwick (and now add Balme) era becomes known for setting up the club for sustained success? Where we develop from within and bring players through? Where VFL players can step up to roles in the seniors and look confident if not polished? This why I have patience with Hardwick, I am hoping he is putting in place systems that do more than win week-to-week. They win year-to-year.

Like that, but also add our coaching panel overhaul, I think that has done the trick. Peggy needs to get some credit too for remaining calm in the crisis and not making rash decisions. Very measured approach has paid off, big tick for her!
