When considering Morabito, What are your thoughts on Dustin Martin as an alternative? Is he a more complete footballer in terms of skill, decision making, ball winning ability? Are Morabito's physical attributes making people drool too much on his potential too much?

I rate Dustin Martin very highly.

I think he is a better and more penetrating kick than Morabito and has some qualities that outweigh Morabito. I think you may be right that his physical attributes are making people drool but when you get a midfielder who is a bonafide power athlete who runs like the wind and is 190cm 90 kilos, it is very impressive.

I was talking to DD and The General after a game earlier in the year and said to them both Dustin Martin was a guy I would love at the club, I think we looked to have pick 6 at the time.

I would not complain if he was selected with our first pick.

You can't make a definite judgment about a player from a highlights package of two games, but I am slightly disappointed by the lack of contest marks in his highlights.

Whoever drafts him will have to be patient because that big frame of his is immature and will need of lot of developing to be AFL ready

marking is one of his stronger attributes, that is one area I wouldn't be too concerned with

agree. on tac cup future stars yesterday they said one of butcher's biggest assest (apart from his agility and contested marking) is his workrate in that he can repeatedly present to get in position to mark.

so i guess there is no surprise from the number of shots on goal he gets. not one of those who simply stays in the goal square and waits for the ball to come to him.

If he's a hard worker its obviously quite positive. The only knock on him seems to be his kicking and that doesn't look all that bad.

Wouldnt mind seeing more highlights of Butcher. Didn't see liked more than one overhead mark in the package, all chest marks. Looks promising but liked Post's highlights reel much more last year.

I am just amazed that there was enough footage of JON's "highlights" to make a package!

I remember his higlight package well from the Draft Night - and there wasn't much to it. Miller kept on carping on about stuff he did that wasn't on film. Dempsey's package looked better and so did Varcoe's and I remember thinking to myself 'What did they see in this boy?'

The only time he was held is against the Falcons who finished on top and only lost 1 game. Other than that he has been damaging.

After thinking it over long and hard I reckon Butcher is a lock. While we need class and skill in the middle badly, Riewoldt can't do it all himself and Post is probably needed down back long term with his height and talent. Apart from those 2 there isn't much else. Hughes, Schulz gone, Gourdis is a rookie who is a longshot, Polak gone, Richo gone after next year.
