DELEDIO A GIANT

Brett Deledio's trade to GWS is also done.

Details to come.

So what number is our first round pick this year?

What a stupid trade.

What is actually our plan? Load up with mature aged Midfielders, trade out our forward line and our draft picks, so we can half rebuild, half challenge and ultimately do nothing?

I would have much rathered if we had loaded up in this draft. Particularly since we've decided to trade out Deledio to the guys who will be smashing the entire competition for the next 5 years.

We're trying to cram open our window with a crowbar, whilst helpfully chocking open the giants' one.

Plus Caddy is an ineffective, one paced plodder.

Oh well. Welcome to Tiger land. I really hope I'm wrong, and he's about to break out. It's possible, but I don't see it.

Unfortunately agree with all that.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

I am optimistic that Caddy will offer a bit of much-needed grunt and competitiveness to the midfield.
He may not be an out-and-out champion, but he has shown patches of really good form in the midfield at Geelong. Play him alongside his good mate, Prestia, and he might lift to grasp the opportunity of cementing his position in an AFL team.
Hoping he proves to be a bit of a surprise packet for the Tigers.

Not a plodder but a solid B grader. Much, much better than Moore, Townsend etc.

If he can take some of the inside work and free Martin and Cotchin up a bit, it will be a good result.

I'm not completely sold on the deal, but let's hope he can fill that role for us.

Will reserve judgement until I see if he is a regular midfielder. If he spends plenty of time there then it's a been a good deal. If he is left to rot in fp or bp like Flossy has been then it probably wasn't worth it.

Hardwick probably got him so he can keep Vlaustin in the back pocket.

I like this deal far less after seeing Koby Stevens went for a third round pick.

In this draft I think Caddy's value is closer to 35.

Koby is very ragged by foot.

Liked him as a kid. Clearly has not reached that potential. B grader ATM.

However I reckon he has put on too much weight. He was a good runner. Trim him down a bit, work on his running ability (which is OK anyway) and lets see what he's got.

Both have their downside. Caddy isn't much better by foot, he's just got length like Dusty.

Plus he's slooow. Koby can move.

Koby isn't in the same class as Caddy.

Still a good runner. Only Blicavs beats him over 3ks at Geelong.

Caddy runs a sub-3-sec 20m. Easily a better player than Stevens.

Good trade. Powerful, aggressive, goal-kicking, clearance-winning, contested ball midfielder who was being played out of position. Comfortably a B-grader with room to improve. Will help Chimp considerably.
