Losing interest ?

Pains me to say it but after 27 years as a member I think I'm done.
Rule changes on the fly , Talk of shortned qtrs . Media witchhunts , media bias often driven by the clowns in charge of the game.
Clowns like cornes who are employed by the AFL alienating a whole supporter base for their own agendas.
It's crap...

Covid ain't helping one iota.
You’re right it’s a significant factor that I prob underestimated, met a member recently who hadn’t been to a game all year on account of covid fear it’s the peripherals of covid that have peeved me such as random v reserved seating

What sums the AFL up to me is that :

they took one of my favourite singer's of the '80's and an all time classic album "Bat out of Hell" and helped orchestrate Meatloaf into a laughing stock.
Two : Gil dresses up as Meatloaf recently, to get the AFL a tired cheap laugh .
Three: Angry Anderson and whatever his car was at that Grand final.
The AFL have delivered substandard entertainment for years.
Nowadays they just deliver through endless inane rule changes.
God help Brendan Gale if he goes for Gil's job one-day.

Yeah it's impossible to separate the effect on crowds of dull footy v coronavirus. As much as I'd like to give Hocking all the blame, the virus is a huge factor.

If the Geelong VS Freo game last night is anything to go by, the game is stuffed.
Well done to anyone who was able to watch the whole thing

They've legislated skills like bumping and shepherding out of the game. The beauty of Aussie Rules was that people of all sizes could play, it didn't matter if you were unathletic like Diesel Williams as long as you could read the ball. It's now a game of Ultimate Frisbee designed for aerobic runners with a smaller range of skills. Aside from Tigers games, don't care. Likely will not renew my watchAFL subscription next year unless there are drastic changes.

I reckon the old interest will be a little bit rekindled tonight.

You are the tiger whisperer. I have had zero faith in the outcome tonight but you've swung me around. Cracking a nice Pinot out and gonna put my tiger socks on tonight.

same. just uncorked a 2017 Bendigo Shiraz (I aim for 2017 to be the only vintage I drink for ever),

and got the No.50 with the lucky Danny Rioli badge on.

Interested as *smile*

Gyps tells me 2012 Coonawarra Cab Sav is the shiz, so if Pfizer #2 doesn't knock me out I'm taking a bottle of Wynns Black Label over to my brother's place (he's my bubble buddy). I've watched our last two losses to Brisbane there but I'm not superstitious. (Not even a little stitious, to steal from Michael Scott.)

I cousin of mine swore by 1 part Shiraz: 2 parts Pfizer, for the ultimate mid winter efficacy.

But if you want to get technical, It was 1Prozac; 1 Viagra; 1 Shiraz

he'd light a fire and walk around in his jocks with a glass of red, his tent pitched and a huge grin on his face

you and the fellas would remember him, the 200/100 who cartwheeled down the aisle with 5 beers at Docklands at the 2017 VFL GF, after we'd cradled the world largest Vodka bottle for brunch? Kmacs outlaw.

im sure a Covid jab or two could only improve the cocktail?

anyway, yeah, *smile*,

we'll win tonight.

and if we don't, I'll still be waving my Tigerland passport at these poor Brisbane and Geelong *smile* s

ive gotta say, my interest is pretty *smile* piqued right now
