Noah Balta

Hasn't he always struggled with his tank? A key forward covers a fair bit more ground than a key back - the back can often let them go up the ground. KF's are required to do a lot of unrewarded running. Balta is on record as saying he is not a great runner, more a burst runner.

It's why relief ruck suits him, he can go for 5 in a qtr and wreak havoc. But is it relief ruck and forward or relief ruck and back? Not many are the latter.

Misery guts? Nah just a realist.😎

We didn’t go & recruit a dozen key forwards for no reason. Balta is a defender. Though off field he seems pretty good in attack.😐
Misery guts was a bit harsh.

Worry Wart?

Negative Nancy?

Nervous Nelly?

Debbie Downer?

Gloomy Gus?

Party Pooper?

:p

Part of Yeezy's rationale for moving him forward last year was that key backs tend to play close to 100% TOG. As forward/second ruck he'd get more of a rest.

Anyway. It's probably dead. Yeezy lost his nerve.

Away from the unsavory incident and impending sentence it has been a huge wake up call for Noah.

I know some people don't think he deserves his chance for redemption at RFC, he deserves to be punished, he has, financially, reputationally and in the glare of the greatest media scrutiny and will cop his whack when court punishment his handed out in April.

The fact is Noah will playing round 5 and to my eye is in the best condition physically, (who knows mentally), of his life.

I used to think you were a good poster who made a lot of sense but lately I think you’re an idiot who talks nonsense so perhaps there’s something to this.😜😁

Ah, the old gotta be a brain surgeon to play forward argument.

See ball? Get ball.
Nonsense spook, it’s nothing to do with intelligence. Some players are better with the ball coming at them and playing straight ahead footy, they don’t excel where they have to turn like forwards do.
Balta is just one of them, he is a natural back not a natural forward. If he was 4-5 cm taller he would also be a great ruck/follower.
There have been examples of this over and over again in afl footy over generations. The evidence is clear with Balta.

We've already covered that he's a better back than forward. So is Tom Lynch. So was Matthew Richardson. But they play(ed) forward because those who can, must.

Balta has played a handful of games forward. He's one of four players on our list who have kicked 4 goals in a game. The others are Lynch, Taranto, and our VFL full-back.

Noah always impacts when he goes on-ball. I think we should cultivate this.

I think people overstate the need for 'smarts' to play forward.

Anyway, as stated in my last post it's probably moot and I'll give it a rest.

that wouldn't be Caroline Wilson ?
Hardwick has an affair with someone in the workplace - bangs on forever pretty much suggesting a life time ban from everything
Broad circulating those premiership medallion - life time ban

I don't see a lot of her media work , but when ever I do I just go wow , so toxic

and not to pick on women , reckon old Kane is on the same train line destination bitter , twisted and toxic , just shes a few years ahead

as for the Noah case , Richmond made a stand with the 4 week suspension , nobody poo pooed it at the time , even thought it was harsh
the court verdict is close , let it play out the proper way as to the laws of the land

Sometimes something like this has the power to improve the individual. Maybe Balta will come out of this with more maturity and new focus on life. Well at least I am hoping this will be the case

Fingers crossed it’s his Stevie J moment and he realises his enormous potential

It's the same for me. Aas someone who has had close friends severely impacted by thugs and king hits I'm neutral on Balta's return.

Nothing tough about it or being "a misery guts" because your conflicted.

Everyone can choose their response.

If it helps, he chose to bump. It wasn't a king hit

I wonder what Balta would bring us on the trade table.

3 & 21 maybe Or is that pushing it?

No chance unless he looks all Australian on his return. If we were going to let him go it should have been as a free agent and would have got a very early first. As a trade mid / late first.

I however wouldn’t be trading him. Athletic and competitive talks don’t grow on trees. We desperately need good players in his age group. Has always appeared a bit easily disengaged and there was a huge gap between his best when locked in and worst when he would become way too loose and try to do too much. Hopefully having stared down the barrel of losing his career he now realises how hard he needs to work and how engaged he needs to be and it’s the making of Noah the player, leader and man

Too late for that now. With his off field issue, his value would be relatively low considering the upside.

Like has been mentioned, best time would have been to let his contract run out this year and get a compo pick straight after our 1st.

We shouldve waited, if a club offered him 6yrs @800-900k it wouldve given us a compo pick after our 1st pick.
We couldve had pick 1, pick 2 and north's pick 5
