Paddy Dangerdive

So that pic was right after they beat Brissy in the prelim. I think I know whats been said and whats on Dangerflogs mind.

Danger has just said to Scott, "I'm just planning my speech in front of all the supporters at the Gabba when we win the GF"
Scott says "But Danger, only the captain and the coach get to speak"
Photo is taken just as Danger is thinking to himself.

"Not in MYYYYY grand final, I will be speaking as all these adoring people are here to watch ME ME ME"

That comment goes hand in hand with his coaching record.

I remember when channel 7 first took him on, they explained to him that he wouldnt be able to comment on football as his credibility onthe subject was shot. They should have stuck with that ethos.
Haha, like when on Channel 7 Tim told us that after the break they would be interviewing the Demons coach................. :) Greg Hutchison was caretaker coach at the time when Balmey got the flick by Joe Gutnick. Wato later admitted that Greg reminds him of it every time he sees him - he actually knew him really well, just couldn't remember the name!

Amazing Dangerfield is using the had no choice/ self defence defence. The ball was gone and he launched into him with full force. A player of his ability has razor-sharp awareness and reaction time, could have pulled up, simple. It happens all the time in games, in a split second both players, attacking and defending, take their foot off the gas when the ball has gone and just innocuously bump into each other and move on, might have got a bit tangled up but with no force, no harm done. failing that, he could have sidestepped. It stinks, as did the nothing to see here on NV in the GF, but this incident is more irrefuteable.

Imagine if this was Lynchy? Or Jake King? It will be very interesting to see how the Tribunal adjudicates.

he delivers the media defence in a very assured and smarmy manner too.

He is AFL's definition of entitled

Knocked out 2 blokes in 2 games.

If the tribunal is serious about taking into account damage done, he gets a month

we can take consolation that he will not ever win a premiership too

The media don’t even bring up the fact that he has knocked out players in his last 2 games. Different story if it was a Richmond player.

I read it in one story, but nah, its not part of the narrative.

2 blokes taken off on the little stretcher mobile in 2 games.

Danger has a very strong self-protection reflex hey?

The down the ground footage is damning. Will be lucky to get less than 3 weeks.

with no brownlow to worry about he could be dangerous to play against when he returns

Why?
Whats he going to do?
I hope they give him 6 weeks.
Anyone notice the bullshiit band aid on his head?
Pity it was on the wrong end.

the defence mechanisms at the cats need work on a lot of levels

This guy mentions the vlastun incident saying this

On Tuesday night, Geelong will point to Dangerfield’s good disciplinary record as reason for a reduced sentence. The tribunal should laugh it out of court. The 2016 Brownlow medalist will do well to take his medicine graciously and use the time off to consider his approach; this is the second time in two games his intensity in the contest has led to a player being knocked out. Richmond supporters are likely still wondering how Dangerfield slipped the noose after his elbow to Nick Vlastuin’s head in last year’s grand final.

if you check the replay of his hit on NV, you'll see that his VERY FIRST reaction is to lift his elbow, then he extends his fist to punch the ball & then he returns to his elbow cocked position to strike NV.

He had no intention other than causing damage to Vlastuin, same as Kelly.

(posted this on AFL360, should hav ebeen on this thread).

With the Kelly incident, leading up to the collision he was run down from behind, so got up angry, with intent and accelerated into Kelly.
Stagerfield should cop the full consequences - to me that means three weeks, but I reckon he'll get two and possibly just one.
The residual McAveney-inspired media golden boy halo effect will temper what should be a decent suspension.
If he was a low profile player he would get his full and right whack (ie remember when Neal-Bullen got a ridiculous four weeks for a sling tackle?).
And if he was Tom Lynch The Axe Murderer he would get deregistered.
