Pre-season 2022 - all games

Unfortunately the days of the Blues and Drugs providing hilarity and a regulation walk up 4 points for the RFC are winding up, as we start regressing and the wheel turns.
An unpopular but very realistic perspective. Of course we are all hoping for another flag this year but in reality our premiership clock has probably ticked past midnight and this golden era is drawing to a close. Would be very happy to be totally wrong of course but history says all good things must come to an end eventually.

We have the players capable to getting us our 4th in 6 years, but we need players like Ross to do a Parish and find his feet in the best 22, Balta to be the next Paul Dear and between Ruckman to forward, Collier dawkins to learn to chase and defend, Stack to capture 2018 form. Dow to be the next Cotchin.
I reckon Hardwick has a plan and I reckon we will be super good this year.

I’m beginning to feel this way also after unwavering belief last year that there was enough left in the nucleus, and all that was needed was an injection of a couple of strong midfielders.

The drafting on face value looks great, but won’t be an immediate fix.

And currently we have Prestia who despite being outrageously talented may not stay on the park; Riewoldt was starting to look pretty slow last year; Balta forward may not work; Cotchin is beat up, a step slower and rightly so.

What’s however keeping me excited is the possibility that some of the younger guys step out of the long shadow cast by our long standing guns. Ross, Stack & Collier-Dawkins could make a real difference if they went to the next level.

And if Sonsie could end up making a few appearances to add to midfield depth then things could really get interesting. (If)*

I think we’re a gun goal kicking mid and an additional 30-40 goal kicking forward off.

I think the odds are you are correct BUT I also believe that if a lot of things go right eg injuries, playing teams at the right time, our game style is rejigged that we certainly are capable of stealing.

Sort of a Last Dance scenario…..

Injuries will be the biggest factor for me getting a few to much niggles in preseason to. We need the next lot of players to step that's we're the improvement will come Rcd , Ross ,Miller , Stack , Hugo etc. If we have fine tune our game plan to will be a big factor as of recent been to predictable.

That is what I am hoping for as well TT but as you said a lot will have to go right. I certainly expect to do better than last year and hopefully some of the young blokes will get a chance and show real improvement.

History is all good but that doesn't dictate how the future will unfold.

How did you feel in 2016 and early part of 2017?? The glory years seemed so far off but then everything fell into place.

Agree many things have to go right from here on as we replace the "stars" but there is enough vision right now that it is possible we will see an extended time at the top

Balta, Bolton, Baker, Graham, RCD, Ross, Ralphsmith, Sampson, Miller, Stack, Mansell, Dow hold the key. Not all will make it but the more that do the quicker the rebuild

Then Gibcus, Sonsie, Brown and Clarke have shown signs

Just then need our recruiting over the next three years to fill the gaps

2022 will answer some questions.

Brisbane also with a big win.
The injection of Rayner & Cockatoo along with the expected return of hipwood soon makes them a more dynamic team.
After a few misfires in previous finals series, they'll be thereabouts this year.

Huns 10.6.66
Port 2.13.25

I reckon Hinkley could be in trouble this season if Port struggle.
