Never gets spoken about in terms of being amongst the elite midfielders of the comp - but he should. Edwards too.

A stat somewhere said our centre square clearance differential across the finals (+30 I think) was the most ever recorded.Ok.
So Richmond is weak at clearance. Well. Sit down. Chimp will usually zone. Form up to defend. Force the turnover and we rebound from HB.
But if it really matters Chimp will dominate clearance. And Chimp is really good at clearance. (Not like Clangerdog or Selhasbeen.) Chimp wipes his arse with these All Australians when the game is on. (See recent final.)
And much as I love Chimp I have to concede that the best clearance player at Richmond is Dion Prestia, when he's set to the task.
Did you read the *smile* blathering of the "Richmond can't clearance" fraternity?
Dion dispatches myths like this.
Half fit he can stop them or start us.
The most underrated player in the AFL. Dion Prestia.
Yep. One star n a whole mob of dime a dozen *smile* role playersApart from Dusty they downplay under value most of our players.
Loving your work Captain Blood.Ok.

Agree with this. Taps into the idea there are two ways to be better than your opposition...It isn't just the clearances which matter, it is how we impact on the opposition clearances when they get the ball. You notice when we play badly that the opposition clearances are high quality into their forward 50. When we play well the opposition might get clearances but they are under pressure and allow our defence to repel the attack.
There are clearances, and there are clearances: if you can pressure opposition clearances so they are low quality they have far less impact.

I reckon Dion deserves better than "meat ball", he's so much better than that, filet mignon would be much more appropriate.Prestia, Lambert, Martin Edwards seem to rotate mid forward same as Bolton, all guns, Prestia might be the second best of the lot,
Smart, Tough, Quick, Agile, goal kicking inside outside midfielder who lifts a cog in big finals, and kicks goals.
Basically the meat ball, is a big mac !
Arancini?I reckon Dion deserves better than "meat ball", he's so much better than that, filet mignon would be much more appropriate.
Yes, or how about Spiedo Bresciano.Arancini?
I'd reckon a carpet bag steak. Perfect eye fillet, stuffed with oysters!I reckon Dion deserves better than "meat ball", he's so much better than that, filet mignon would be much more appropriate.

Ah, 407.Nah, lose the oysters (sorry, can't stand seafood) and go with a 707
Prestia is just an amazing centre and essential to what we do, so glad he made it back for the end of the season.
