RD 15 Crowds Update

I think people are overreacting a little bit. sure, 25,000 is low. It probably means I miss out on a ticket for Friday (after my conversation with the club yesterday). But at our next home game in 2 weeks, it’ll probably be 50,000-60,000. And hopefully no more outbreaks means a full house by September.

You're still in with a chance. No doubt even reserve seat holders may give the game a miss as not wanting to go through the ballot system again. I think it will open up to roaming tiger/GA members but I guess we'll know by today (latest tomorrow).

Overreacting? Please. If there was a logical reason behind it with some rational about this figure then we might be more forgiving. However as others have noted its all guess work.

We are only 2 days out from the game and most of us dont know if we can attend.

This is nothing short of a debacle.

Seriously, this might be the reason the Health Dept is thumbing down the crowd numbers requested by the AFL and ground managements.

Perhaps the AFL/MCG don't want 25000 people spread out throughout a 100000 strong stadium because they'd need to staff every single section in the ground (security, cleaners, attendants, food stalls, etc.) and the low patron density means this isn't economical?

And profits for the AFL/MCG are more important than the safety of their patrons.

I had a quick look at the Ticketek site yesterday and, although tickets were not yet on sale you could see the game. I noticed there were tickets to go on sale in M1 for I think $70. They had better not try and charge us for tickets in the bays where we would normally be as Roaming Tiger members.

I am hoping it is set up just to get ready for how the tickets will be sold when they go on sale.

That's great news, but weird that we couldn't go 50% this week as the jump next week (July 1st) is 85%
Nonetheless, I'm happy that we moving quickly to 85%, as come finals 100% surely will be in place.

Haven't been to a game of footy all season but it all just feels a bit hard this week.

Maybe it is because I was lucky enough to still see nearly 20 games last year so I haven't been as deprived as some, but I'll be watching on the TV instead of attending a game I could for the first time in 25 years.
May I kindly ask where u live as that's pretty impressive for 2020 which was the first time in 42 years I didn't get to a single game.

You can't say 50 percent ,then for our biggest ground say 25 percent, its double Dutch and they are all k---ts

Mcc was on sale 3 pm today. First in best dressed.

Had the smoothest experience with Ticketek ever for me.

2 tickets, and greatly improved mental well being.

I just wish everyone would *smile* remember this next time they vote.
I'll try if you promise to remember Morrison burned the chance to get enough Pfizer for the whole country a year ago. And all the other crimes, incompetence, lies and corruption we've had to put up with for eight years. (Check the politics thread, there's a loooong list.)
