Richmond 2017 AFL Premiers

Never forget that day. Every time I go to the MCG and look at the scoreboard at the Punt Road end, I remember where I was sitting. There is a clock in the bottom left hand corner. I look up and the time might be 3:15 in the afternoon. I was in the back row, three seats from the end. Just in front of the 1 on the clock.

Whatever time of day it is, I remember. Best seat in the house!

Watched the 3 Rd quarter again as my memory isn’t great to see how that quarter played out.

A few mentioned that quarter .

We played exhilarating football.

Here it is again.

My favourite quarter of football ever.
I downloaded the various radio commentaries of the 2017 GF and still love listening to them. Gerald Whately's commentary of the third quarter on ABC was brilliant, Mick Malthouse's special comments on SEN for the whole game were spot on, and listening to the 5AA boys trying to work out why they were getting pumped is so satisfying.

I actually reckon the 5AA commentators were very good. They could see quite early that the game was being played on Richmond's terms. It was fun listening to them as they saw that we were clearly going to win, but they didn't mince words and they were scathing of Adelaide.

Malthouse was perceptive in saying the game was on our terms so early, then again, he wasn't competing with intellectual giants.

They were fine, but it's still funny listening to them. Stephen Rowe's bipolar commentary is hilarious. The before-and-after "Crowcast" podcast is another classic.

Watched this game many times.
3rd Q was one of the best Q I’ve ever seen.
As Bruce would say it was … delicious .
Because we were the best runners in AFL history
We had Edwards Lambert Graham Ellis Bulter Castagna Rioli and Prestia that never stopped running.
Because we never stopped running we always had option's. Having option's made our game plan look simple but no-one has replicated us.
We wouldve beaten Brisbane by more then we beat GWS in our prime

just watched it agin - restored my faith in football.

how can they argue the new rules have made the game faster, more open and higher scoring tan that - honestly

hear hear.
That stand rule is a blight on the game. Terrible rule.

Great quarter, Fly on the bench high-fiving Jack Graham (that is) after his third...

I distinctly remember jumping out of my seat, roaring in jubilation and falling into the row in front of me when Lambert kicked his 3rd qtr goal, on the end of a string of handballs coming out of a chaos play.

That one and Houli’s goal in the first quarter sounded intensely loud and had the crowd pumping.

What a great day it was, I'll never forget Towner's tackle on Matt Crouch, will forever be a hero of mine.

Just Watched that last quarter.

Emotional.

Disbelief still rings true to this day.

They talk about the Pies army but seriously we were the first. The first of many things during season 2017.

I was not able to get any of the radio commentaries so was stuck with the TV commentators. At half time, it was King I think, who said that the Tigers were so dominant that the match was effectively over (I am paraphrasing) and waxing lyrical on Shane Edwards.
