No easy feat picking that 23 but I think it’s highly unlikely Short and Balta won’t be there come round 1. I would probably swap Sonsie with Short and Gibucs with Balta. Hoping Gibcus takes over Tarrant and forces him out this year, but that could be dependent on Balta's form as well (if he can reach the heights of 2020. Probably didn't help that he was thrown all over the ground this year, need to just settle him down back). I am a massive fan of Sonsie, but if everyone is available, hard to see him in the best 22 unfortunately. I'd put him as sub.

I left Balta out primarily due to his last game which was really poor.
Short is stiff. He's probably a lock in the coach's eyes.
Graham has a bit of work to do to break in.

The other things to consider are these older players.

Cotchin
Tarrant
Grimes
Riewoldt
even Prestia & Martin.

These veterans most probably get a start rnd 1 but I expect a lot of them to be rotated this year as younger players are afforded opportunity to grow & improve.

That was much more difficult than I originally thought it would be. The last few positions in the team were incredibly difficult for me to decide. Adding Taranto and Hopper to the team has really boosted our inside midfield quality meaning players like Jack Graham all of a sudden find themselves fighting for a regular position. It's likely we also see a couple of the draftees from last year push their case for more regular senior appearances. Great motivation for a big pre-season! Can only hope our injuries are limited for the team throughout the year.
