Round 2 - Other Games

Another shocking performance by Carlton.
My view of their team last night,
*Dow, is their Fiora, will never be a top quality mid. Huge error
*Murphy, too slow, should've retired.
*Cripps, either the game is way to fast for him now or he is doing a Cameron and preparing to leave.
He was shocking last night. Slow and disinterested.
*SPS, Ok but not a defender.
*Williams, will be the number 1 man, not the 5th man like at GWS.
*Fogarty, not sure why they recruited him.
*Mckay, young key forward, that needs to get more desperate, reminds me of Vickery.
*Jones, shocking footballer, clumsly
*Docherty, if you can't man up in defence your in big trouble, his opponents always have space.
*Walsh, best player on their list.
*Plowman, useless
*Martin, classy footballer, but did Teague move him away from the forward line??
*Weitering, good defender.
*Fisher, good footballer, but at times plays like a chook with his head cut off.
*Pittonet, what more do you want from a $270k Ruckman.
*Curnow, no good, game is too fast for him.
*Newnes, when Stkilda get rid of you, you should know your no good.
*Gibbons, There version of Aarts.
*Casboult, and then they wonder why they aren't any good, worse footballer in the comp.
*Saad, good footballer, we shouldve delisted more to try to get him, he wouldve been unreal in our side.
*Setterfield, another Dud. A nothing footballer.
Overall a very ordinary team list.
Not sure they have enough talent in the kids to climb out of the bottom 6-7 teams in the comp.
They made Collingwood look like a free following/fast football team last night.
2 weeks in a row they have conceded 15 goals, thats bottom 4 material.
Magnificent. Offer this man a job.

Last night one of the commentators said 'that's Carlton's 12th X GWS player on the list"
Shocking list management

10 of their 23 yesterday came from other clubs. Shows how poor their drafting has actually been.

Haha stick that carlscum. Two games in a row that the blues have let through 100+ points
RD 1 - 105
RD 2 - 106

Zac Williams is a total turnover merchant
Biggest losing streaks starting 0-2 in VFL/AFL seasons
9 - CARL 2013-present
8 - haw 1946-53
7 - stk 1982-88

Keep the records coming carltoon.

Yeh 0-2 9 years in a row. Kudos boys. Reckon this is probably their best 0-2 though.

If you don't have speed/running ability you are going to struggle to play this years brand under the new rules.

Cripps is being made a little redundant.

And a guy like Howe, who relies on reading the game and slow ball movement/high balls to packs, is another who looks likely to play a reduced role. He's not really a man on man player and with the ball moving so fast between the arcs it doesn't lend itself to as much 3rd man up play. No AA for Howe this year.

"There’s never been a club like Carlton when it comes to building up their supporters hopes in preseason — then immediately crushing them."

Media getting stuck into carltoon.
Carltoon now the laughing stock of the AFL
No paper bags are going to help them

‘There has never been a club like ........’ hmmmm 37 years ring a bell

The more Dow and O'Brien play, the less they seem like top 10 picks. At least Dow had a promising first year.

Its crazy when you break down their team. The high picks they have on their list and how poor they are. Development must be shocking at the Blues.

Recruited from other clubs
Docherty
Saad
Fogarty
Williams
Newnes
Plowman
Martin
Setterfield
Pittonet
Jones

Drafted by Carlton
Walsh - Pick 1
Murphy - Pick 1
Weitering - Pick 1
Dow - Pick 3
Petrevski-Seton - Pick 6
McKay - Pick 10
Cripps - Pick 13
Fisher - Pick 27
Williamson - Pick 61
Curnow - Pick 89
Casbault - Pick 89
Gibbons - Rookie

If you have recruited well from other clubs and developed well, those top picks should be driving you to top 4, not struggling to make finals.

Haven’t seen a free agents value drop like this in a long time.

Cripps has to stay, Carlton needs him to stay and other clubs would be nervous about paying a bloke who can’t run in a running game. It’s a reduced cap as it is and blokes like Cripps aren’t going to be able to demand top dollar.

Carlton, still in no mans land.

Admittedly they would be much more dangerous with Curnow, McGovern, and Marchbank to provide structure in the side but their biggest issue is they have no second or third tier midfield, and they also went for Betts instead of Butler or Brandon Ellis.

Jack Martin would've been a nice addition at the RFC, sadly will be wasted at CFC. but he's getting a healthy pay cheque.

Weitering would be a nice addition also.

4 genuine A graders missing from geelong's lineup in duncan, menegola, cameron and danger but they should still easily beat the flat track bullies
