Really surprsiing because although the lad has talent - competitive, brave, strong marking and kicking - he has a beanpole build at present. Could be easily brushed aside by hardened tall AFL backs, but 206cm height is always hard to stop getting hands on the ball I suppose. His agility might be a standout feature for his size.
But we are clearly experimenting with the three-headed-monster FL to match what other sides are winning with. Perhaps the view is that the SFs and chaos game has had its day. I thought it was really noticeable against Willy in the VFL, we ran more and harder, put in greater effort, more disposals, dominated at times only for Willy to play straightforward better mark/kick/set-shot/goal footy that still almost beat us.
Same with Geesook and Weagles last games: nearly all WCE's goals came from same above plus frees (as Dimma noted in his presser); hardly any from general play. I posted that our VFL game was like 'a fart in a bottle'; a lot of energy released, bouncing around for little real gain.
