Shane Edwards

This was the most disappointing piece of Shane’s performance for me last night.

Here, with 58 seconds left and the game on the line and the ball slightly in our half of the ground , he chooses to pull out from putting his hands on the ball first and instead, allows Rowell to take possession and hope he can tackle him effectively. He does sort of tackle him effectively, but the ball still falls loose and GC go down the other end and kick the winning goal.

He needed to make the ball his object, hopefully get a stoppage and set up defensively but he didn’t. He just allowed Rowell to get possession instead and the rest is history.

Just stumbled in here Red, and haven’t read past this post.

His biggest mistake, and it’s a rookie one, was initially running past the football when he had a chance to pick it up, or at least keep it moving our way in front of himself.

When doubling back to compete for the ball, if he had done as you say, he takes out Rowell’s legs and gives away a free kick anyway.

Rowell played it well, kept his feet. Shedda didn’t have much choice other than to wait and tackle imo. Split second stuff.

Having said all that, and he did as you say, yes Rowell gets a free kick, and it does give us a chance to better set up further down the ground.

But in the end it was our poor play in front of goal earlier in the qtr that ultimately cost us the win.

Yeah, dunno about that. If he got there first all other issues go out the door I reckon. He only has to turn to the side and stretch out…and didn’t.

All is not lost as we lose another game
At least Edwards is being carried to his 300th game

Get him to 300 and farewell him at the same time.
He is hopless.
And he didn't throw the ball.
If that was a throw, Footscary players wouldn't get a possession
