I think it would be good for Shane to have some consistency. He should either play for a few straight weeks at Coburg and build up his skills, or he should stay in the Richmond team for more than one week at a time. Otherwise his confidence will be damaged and his performance will be affected, having to set his mind to a different game condition every week.

No problem with him being sent back to Coburg for a full game.

Remember he played 3 or 4 games straight for the Tige's

The thing that will affect his confidence is if he puts in a display like today and doesn't get promoted

I'm with you Westy. Playing half a game for too long can affect a young player's conditioning, so I'm OK with him going back, especially considering that we had the week off. He's shown that he's a class above at VFL level, so hopefully he comes back in against the Saints and gets the chance to sing the song.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what happened to Edwards this week, did he get dropped, or is he injured?

Dropped played a great game for Coburg today in a losing side!!

Have to say mighty impressed with Edwards today, ran hard, and baulked his opponents many times and his field kicking was the best ive seen from him to date.

Why name him and then drop him. Makes no sense.

TW just keeps giving Krak a chance this time at the expense of Edwards...TW i feel needs krak to show him why he is worth keeping at years end, personally it doesn’t look good for Krak, times almost up that’s the only reason i can think young Edwards was dropped or maybe just maybe TW decided best to give him 100% game time in the 2nd’s which aint a bad idea with a kid in his first year, will be a regular next year, have no doubt.

Than why not just name krak and list Edwards as ommitted. Must be just keep us ferals at bay for a couple of days.

That's right they name the playing list to stop a couple of forum posters getting all hot and bothered.

Please.

Re: What's happened to Edwards

Maybe Krakouer replaced Polo? Maybe we should be asking why Tivendale wasn't named in the side instead of Edwards.

Re: What's happened to Edwards

Adelaide were all over Edwards & wanting to draft him.

I am glad we got him & love the way he plays his game. He will be a long term asset for the RFC.

Because the conditions were wet. Krakuer is regarded as something of a wet weather specialist although all he did was give more reasons why he must be axed at the end of the year.

Re: What's happened to Edwards

Hopefully all part of the junior rotations.

Have to make sure that he still qualifies to play with Coburg in the VFL finals.

;)

Re: What's happened to Edwards

I would prefer Edwards to Krakouer wet or dry.

But maybe Phantom's closer to the mark. What's the limit on senior games so he can play in the finals?

Thanks rob, thats what I was thinking.

God i like this kid.

Hes got a natural excitement about him, backs himself, doesnt look over awed and has class and footy smarts.

This kid is going to fast become a fave of tiger fans, and i am really warming to him, considering i was annoyed when we took him instead of Eric McKenzie hes done well the kid.

A few other tiges could very well take a hard look at Shane and apply themselves in the same fashion.

Well done Shane Edwards keep up the great work :fing32 :clap

yeah like the kid reminds me of a young wayne campbell with a bit more flair

Put me down as a Fan...................said it all year long , this Kid has that "IT factor that can' be taught.
He is ONE that needs to be given the opportunity to blossom , sure , he'll make some mistakes , but that's the beauty of this type of talent , he's not "Gun-Shy" and will back himself again and again , till he get's it right.

A few extra LB'S wouldn't go astray , but that will come ...................Tell this Kid to go out and play "HIS" game , I believe he'll be a Gun before long , not one of these 4-5 year projects that seem to be all the Rage nowaday's.
