Sydney Stack

Possibly, not sure of the other clubs records

If you add Grimes as PSD and players like Broad and Graham who were late picks it's not a team of high picks. Plenty of 2nd and 3rd rounders in the 2020 flag team as well like Balta, Bolton, Edwards, McIntosh, Astbury, Houli, Nankervis
Just imagine the team we would have if we nailed our first rounders.

6 rookies plus Chol and Aarts who have been around the best 22 as well.

Baker, castagna, Short, Soldo, Lambert and Pickett

Thanks Sin.

My point being, that Stack is surrounded by teammates that have also overcome rejection and excelled by getting the most out of themselves. Always looking to improve.

Stack has to realise that he cant rely on his natural skills alone.
Coming back after Corona/Souvalki gate unfit, tells me that he may end up playing in the lower leagues,
being a big fish in a little pond, and having beers with his teammates and hangers on after the games.

Plenty of players have made that choice (Nathan Ablett springs to mind).

So Stack needs to make the call for himself, either way no regrets, and be the happiest person that he can be.

Absolutely. In the end if he is given another chance there is only one person who can make it work and that’s Sydney himself

And even harder when we are posting after a few beers! :help

It is easier said than done for footballers though. Having spent a bit of time socialising with cricketers and footballers over the past 20 years, there's a weird phenomenon of abuse that goes with footballers.

People see a cricketer in a pub, even an unpopular one, and want to have a beer with them and tell them they are a legend. See a footballer and they want to call them names and generally abuse them.
I'd imagine that it is because at the end of the day we all support Australia in the cricket here, whereas in footy we support specific footy clubs (assuming you are referring to Australian cricketers!).

Given that dentist was in her surgery and treating people when she was supposed to be isolating she deserved everything she got. Including being sacked by her employers.
Ahhh, yes I do agree with the sentencing, and I also agree with Stack getting in the *smile* for his decisions, the comment was regarding the racist tone regarding Sydney in some posters comments.
My added response to McGowan's covid response is more in line with his inability to be better than the other states. WA has been lucky. Just plain lucky.

I give stack something
Alot of people love him.
And alot of people want to keep him.
The club would've sacked him by now.
So i expect him to back after he gets out.
No club would sack a player whilst still in the clink , the incident is still midstream conclusion will be soon enough we can then make our determinations in the fullness of time , that’s a professional clear level headed approach

Can't say I've seen any racism in regards the posts here on Stack.
More people trying to find excuses for him because of his apparently tough upbringing. A tough upbringing that seems at odds with what at least appears to be a very supportive family.
As for WA there's certainly a large degree of luck involved but give McGowan some credit. He knows very well that WA is totally unprepared and would make Victoria look good if COVID got lose here. The big issue is that he knows it and has done "smile" all about it except close the borders.
Look at the current state of ambulance ramping at public hospitals and then add a COVID breakout to that. We'd be toast.

Stack’s lack of conditioning/fitness upon his return to preseason says more to me about where his heads at and his future than some immature horse play.
Make all the excuses you want about being young, stupid or disadvantaged but his lack of preparation tells me he doesn’t really want it. The club would see that as his biggest hurdle

I know there many arguments for and against retaining him.
I hope the penny has dropped for Sydney.
The club leaders would have more idea than most of us as to whether he’s a lost cause or not. I’ll back their decision, but personally hope it clicks for him. He needs it. He’ll need to work his arse off from here on in.
In the spirit of Christmas goodwill, I hope he can
Good luck young fella.

What if you saw Warner, say, post sandpaper gate..... Backslap, face slap or back turn?

Totally agree. In the job description of an AFL footballer returning to preseason in decent condition is high on the list. Doing it once is not uncommon but he has turned up to 3 preseasons in low level suburban footballer fitness levels. I wished it worked out for him but it isn’t ever going to. Support the person but delist the player
