Sydney Stack has a 10-year contract with Richmond if he wants it. It’s just split into separate contracts, which he has 100% control over. He knows we won’t screw him.
If he doesn’t believe in himself, he’d jump at a 3-year deal elsewhere. If that’s a decision that appeals to him, then it means he’s not going to make it IMO. Like Yarran.
And unlike CJ, we can guarantee him 25 games if fit. We even cut Houli against his will to make that decision easier.
So yeah... wait it out. Normally, a 1-year deal lacks security, but that’s not the case here. He’ll get more security at Richmond than at any other club. We’ve even guaranteed him game time, as Houli was delisted (not retired, delisted). That means there’s no logical reason for Stack to take a 3-year deal elsewhere unless in his head he knows he’s going to fail and 3 years is more than he thinks he’s capable of achieving.
Happy for us to wait until the salary cap total has been announced so we can take that into consideration though.

If North is trying to seduce players into the PSD it’s draft tampering plain and simple. Massive fine and loss of draft picks coming up which should be the end of those flogs for good.

Stack manager : W were hopefull of a better deal from Richmond and wanted to stay but was not forthcoming and negotiations broke down so we now have to look after our clients interest and enter the psd.

Stack had agreed to extend his contract here until #lolnorf advised him and his manager that if he elected not to sign that contract and instead nominate for the PSD he would get x3 years at more $ per year. Thats draft tampering and not what the PSD was designed for.
Richmond would have no possible way to prove that and nothing would eventuate from it. Lets hope Stack has more credibility than to shaft the club like his kebab mate has done
All speculation but something is holding the re-signing announcement up. Hopefully it gets confirmed this week.
We should note that miller is not yet signed either. All players are contracted until October 31 so there is time.

Reckon there may be some culture wars at Punt Road still, CCJ leaving despite #kebabgate & Stack stalling contract talks indicates an ongoing tug of culture wars. Hopefully the club is demonstrating it is far bigger than the individual & if you don't subscribe to the "Richmond man" pre requisite, there's the door
