Talking Politics

And if invoking the holocaust doesn't work, let's try to scare the population straight by invoking the next best, terrorism.

And this is his idea of "good government"? Nice to know he's listening...

According to a US think tank Abbott is the most incompetent leader of any industrialised democracy:

An amazing statement within this report -

"Abbott has proven so incapable of clear policy thinking, so unwilling to consult with even his own ministers and advisers, and so poor at communicating that he has to go," wrote the CFR senior fellow Joshua Kurlantzick, a US specialist in south-east Asian politics.

"Abbott's policies have been all over the map, and the lack of coherence has often made the prime minister seem ill-informed and incapable of understanding complex policy issues,"

How is it that people from the other side of the world can see this but News Corp Australia cannot?

Had to laugh as Tony was questioned heading in to the spill vote he was waffling on about the mess Labor made. He must either have very poor advisers or he ignores what they tell him.

it was noticeable Abbott never really defended his leadership, probably cos you cant defend the indefensible. all he did was refer to labor.

must say the libs have made a ripping start to 'good government'. except the bits where none of them have any idea what their subs policy is. or their medicare policy.
so much has changed.

and i forgot, another week another incredibly stupid comment from Abbott.

so, so much has changed.

If there's anything stupid to say, Toned Abs is gonna say it.

Today he said Labor's defence industry jobs record in South Australia was a "holocaust".

Yep. He really said that.

Yep, terrible gaffe, youd think he would've learnt after Bob Browns gaffe of using the term "environmental holocaust" a few years back.

Someone needs to do a parody based on the dead poets society scene of oh captain my captain

In my voting life time there have been IMO 4 very poor Prime Ministers.

When Billy McMahon relinquished the reins - I thought back in 1972 that we will never have a worse Prime Minister.

How wrong was I - Kevin Rudd was all talk no action - got very little done - and did not consult his caucus. He did however guide Australia through the GFC - at a cost.

Julia Gillard - miss judged the Australian press and people with her "backflip" on Carbon Tax and the resulting backlash took her Government off the rails.

The 4th poorest sadly is Tony Abbott - he is a loner having far too many "Captains Picks" and he continues to dig bigger holes for him and his Government through rhetoric which should never be said. Further his policies are not what he announced before the election - his pin pointed focus on Gillard's lies when he lead the opposition was fanatical and yet is doing exactly the same himself.

All these 4 poor performing Prime Ministers governed based on their idealism - rather than on the situation needs of their times.

Please God, Allah, Budha (whoever it is) let us never have a poor performing PM again like these 4 and please not three in a row.

Gillard managed to get a ton of important legislation through despite having a minority in the lower house. Gillard was "poor" mostly in perception, not in the reality - but News Ltd. didn't like her so out she went.

Abbott and co. have done nowt except reverse some legislation they didn't like and can't even get a budget through the Senate.

C'mon Antman, I think Tone has a harder job getting legislation through the Senate than Julia did.
Julia could rely on the Greens. Tone has no such luck.

However, having said that (I sound like a Polly LOL), Abbot has to learn one of the fundamental lessons of life......................
When you're in a hole - STOP DIGGING.

Yep - but Julia did have to get it through the House of Reps where she didn't have the majority - and she was smart enough to do a deal to sew that up with the independents, where Toned Abs considerable charm and diplomacy failed him on that occasion.

Gillard was strong on policy but poor on politics.
Abbott is poor in both areas.

Only if the Lips keep Abbott. Dumping Abbott and bringing in someone strong will give the ALP some sleepless nights.

So Toned Abs has been bangin' on about how his new team of Whips will keep him better informed.

Unfortunately Ol' Man Phil Ruddock has come out and said - "hold the phone Tone, I did tell you the backbenchers were hating on you".

Tony Abbott - the gift that keeps on giving.
