Talking Politics

I assume they had to be in canberra because parliment is sitting this week so it wouldn't be that much of a taxpayer burden.

I'm wondering exactly how important the budget is? Last years budget is in a mess and this years will be coming along soon enough. Will we get a budget on a budget? Seems to me the country stumbles along from year to year without the need for politicians.

Another thing that p!sses me off right now is how much exactly did this circus cost the taxpayer. I can't imagine the Liberal party paying for the airfares and accommodation for all the MPs out of their own pocket. This isn't part of governing, this is a Liberal party internal squabble. Haven't they heard of the internet? Why the need to for everyone to go to Canberra? Maybe everyone should get a free flight to Canberra and free accommodation whenever it's time to vote in a federal election. Maybe the internet is just too slow for them (how ironic). A poll can be quickly created on an internet forum for gods sake. Total bunch of free loading douche-bags. All of them. I have no respect for any politician in this country, or most other countries for that matter.

You are spot on. This is a fabulous idea. People complain that politicians don't spend enough time in their electorate. Instead of turning up to Parliament all pollies should be sitting in their office which a screen open to Skype. Then we can save on travel, accommodation and the pollies can have some work-life balance. Win- win-win for Libs, Labor and the electorate. Well done 1ET.

True, but let's never let the facts stand in the way of a good anti-pollie rant. :hihi

Hold on everyone who haven't got a short memory, good government starts today! :happy

Yeh....

Born-again Tone says he's changed, he's learnt, his door is always open and believe it or not, his phone is always on and checks his messages!! Wow!!

The country needs this sorted out. Tones isn't the answer, but neither is Shorten.

Perhaps. Or Shorten could be holding fire. He was pretty impressive today -

MP's are disgraceful. Like watching a class of Grade 5 kids with a supply teacher.

I can't believe this is the best there is in this country.

Sorry everyone for not checking the facts before ranting. I didn't realise parliament was sitting this week :-[

I promise that from today, 1eyed will be a good forum poster

Bad news for Tone that 40% of his collegues wanted someone else.
And for Bull Sh*tten too. 60% of his party wanted Albo.

2 lame duck leaders IMO.

According to a US think tank Abbott is the most incompetent leader of any industrialised democracy:

The Yanks are laying the ground rules for a future mission to degrade Abbot.
Just as they did with Whitlam all those years ago.
You'd think the American "think tanks" would have better things to do.
Such as "their preoccupation with "guns", "the death penalty", "drugs", "it's the economy stupid", etc.
What a waste of intellectual time.

If there's anything stupid to say, Toned Abs is gonna say it.

Today he said Labor's defence industry jobs record in South Australia was a "holocaust".

Yep. He really said that.

http://www.theage.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/tony-abbott-accuses-labor-of-causing-holocaust-of-jobs-20150212-13cy8n.html

And if invoking the holocaust doesn't work, let's try to scare the population straight by invoking the next best, terrorism.

http://www.theage.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/abbott-government-resorting-to-grubby-accusations-over-terror-suspects-labor-20150212-13d2hm.html

He's reverted back to when he was most successful, as an opposition leader attacking Labor.

Shame that's he's actually the Prime Minister though

The Liberal party didn't endorse Tony Abbott-solutely as their leader last Monday, they just decided to give him more rope.
