hmmmm, interesting.

Malc must be sure he has the numbers if he'd made this move.OR
He's so embarrassed to be the spokesman on the Lib's destruction of the NBN that he's decided he can't do it anymore

If there is a challenge I wonder if the right will push Morrision out there to contest has a means to stop Malc in the middle taking over

They say he's got numbers in the 60s, so it looks like a certainty for Cowboy Tone to ride into the sunset.

Sky news reporting that Abboat is basically finished. Bishop has jumped ship along with a lot of backbenchers who don't want to see their seats lost at the next election.

They are also saying that Turnbull has had to confirm he will toe the party line on same sex marriage, the republic and climate change to get support.

I am no great Turnbull fan but we have to get rid of Tony
he can backtrack on that if the Libs popularity surges.

Numbers extremely close apparently - meeting called for 9:15pm. Apparently Abbott was waiting for some MPs to fly back into Canberra for the meeting. Toned Abs camp playing nasty by threatening backbenchers with no access to campaign funds for the next election if they don't vote the right way.

Looking like a good result for Labor either way now, if whoever wins doesn't win very clearly. Best case for Labor would be a close Abbott win.

best thing for Australia would be a different PM, as long as it's not Pyne

Hoop La Hoop La The Circus Is In Town. What a rabble. For the sake of all of us, for the sake of worldwide humanity and for the sake of the environment I hope they get it right.

Speaking of Pyne, amongst all the ministers paraded about spruiking for Tony, Pyne has been notable for his absence.

no matter how this pans out for Abbott I reckon we've seen the last of Hockey

Abbott gone, hopefully Hockey too. He is by far the most annoying. And that's saying something.

it will be interesting to watch Abbott now. Will he behave or will he become Rudd-like?
