Talking Politics

Now we need the FTA with China to get through for the good of rural Australia.

Had to laugh at Kevin Bloody Andrews putting his hand up for deputy.
Julie trounced him 70-30.
But it shows the ultra conservative mind set of his ilk.

Geez that was quick. What happened to having the vote tomorrow or later in the week?

Geez i hope Turnbull is actually different, or is a point of difference to Abbott.

The Abbott era is finally over, thank the heavens for that. I actually think Turnbull will do a good job, he just needs to manage Abbott's head kickers who will be out for revenge.

If I believed in God I would thank him.
Goodbye to the worst PM in living memory in this country.
Two losers tonight . Abbott and the ALP

Unexpected too. I thought every thing was running smoothly. Nothing really caused this to flashpoint. Anyway, good to see Cowboy Tone gone along with Cockey.

Let's hope Turnbull can prove himself now. I must say that 4 PMs in 2 years is globally embarrassing....

The main thing i hope for is that we can lurch away from Abbott's religious ideology that pervaded the Government.

And certainly won't miss Abbott commencing every speech with "We've stopped the boats".

A few things kicked it off.

Canning by-election not looking good
PM Office leak of a possible cabinet re-shuffle
Threat of an early election while Abbott and Givernment very much in the nose.

The party are self-serving so any threat to their seats and they'll quickly sway to someone they thing is a better chance of winning.

Morrison voted for Abbott. Do you think he'd still get Treasurer?

That's the word. And Turnbull has to keep the conservative side of the party happy. Many of those who were Abbott supporters will get ministries - Matthias Cormann would be another. There's a limited amount of viable brain power in the Parliament for the Libs, you can't burn them all.

Abbott's only chance was to get Turnbull on the hop and hope he hadn't organised his numbers, so picked tonight. As it turned out it was very close so worth the gamble by Toned Abs, but his position would have worsened if it had been held later in the week.

Suppose anyone would be better than the current buffoon.

It would be interesting to see what Malcolm has given up, as far as policies, to get the numbers. Eg, word is he won't change the party's stance on marriage equality

The next year will be most interesting from both a leadership style and economic growth.

If Turnbull practices what he preaches - we could be in for stable Government with solid direction and transparent policies. Hopefully the fear and nope attitude will be gone and be replaced with a positive and can do attitude.

Time will tell.........
