The Blair "Which?" Project

Its no knock on CJ Ryan or Mate Colina.
All are developing rucks. Not yet ready to play as #1 ruck.
With Soldo an unknown in 2023, it leaves Nank as the only#1 ruck.
We need someone to potentially slot in for '23 '24.
Draft mids early. Draft a key position if available in top 30.
Bring in Freeman and Schlenshlog

The big message this year is the struggle when Soldo + Nank are out. There are 3 games where a decent #3 gives a diff result.
We drafted SRyan to be ready 2025. And pushed out a pick.
Unless we see Soldo has recovered for 2022 we should pick a 25-28yo big lug. Not to win finals but play June/ July
Don’t think we play both Nankervis and Soldo in every game together, so think CCJ is a reasonable 3rd ruck option should injury strike one of the above mentioned ruckmen.
If no injuries present themselves, we have the ability to rest any of those players when the opportunity or match ups allow.

The proviso is that Soldo returns injury free and is capable of playing #1 most of the season. Big call and the club will know.
But if Soldo is not back to peak performance then we can't rely on Nank +chol/cj

Soldo doesn’t need to play as the #1 ruckman, unless Nankervis is injured or is being managed mid season.
He can build into fitness and form early in the season as the #2 ruckman and can give Nankervis a chop out mid season to freshen him up.
If Nankervis is seriously injured early in the season, we could be in a bit of poo

Zips shopping list
Seedsman or Noah Anderson 2nd rounder
Tarranto or Mitchell for Geelong's first rounder.
Cerra. Cj to GWS- GWS first to Freo.
We will use pick 9, Stkildas 2nd rounder And both ours and GC 3rd rounder.
4 new kids.

Usually takes players another 12 months of training and playing to get back to pre knee injury output. Wouldn't be relying on just Soldo in 2022

It was

Rance leaving early opened up the possibility of bring the payments forward. Working on the fact that would be the smart move and we have smart operators at the club

That is very tidy business if so. Exciting stuff

Ok here are Blaires priorities;

Sign the contracts of Stack, Bolton, Rioli - you dont let A Grade talent walk out the door. If he doesnt do anything he must at least get the signature of these boys.

Keep one of Chol or CCJ - at this point I dont care who it is but for list management sake we cant let both walk out the door

Attract a key A grade mid - use our first round pick and lock them away. Cerra, Hopper take your pick.

Bolster our midfield - look for any B grade players but ones who can transition between the arcs" Pre-requisite - they have to be able to kick the footy.

Trade back into the top 10 of the draft. With pick 9 gone to Freo or GWS we must ensure we still have another one come draft day.

Sorry Zips reckon no chance of trading CJ. With Jack on probably last season (if he lasts) and on recent performances huge questions on Lynch fitness and duration we have no tall potential forwards. We are not kicking goals as it stands and if anything happens to those 2 plus question marks on Dusty we would be struggling to find anyone (other than CJ) cap0able of kicking 20+ in a year

talk of trading CJ is insane. as you say the cupboard is bare for tall forwards yet some want to trade the only young KF we have.

Jake Ricardi been mentioned as a rumor to us. My mate works with his cousin so i'm sure if there is more to it he would know.

Pigs arse land luvs them more.
Same same. What's the difference.
I can't think of one player besides Townsend that has left GwS and has become a better player.
Shield wasn't/isn't worth 2 first rounders.
Smith average
Setterfield below average
Patton and Scully thanks for coming.
Foreskin Elliot Mr invisible.
Adams. Worse kick in the league
They just seem to hold onto the good ones.
The captain might be gone to clear cap space. And may not be a WA team either.
