Yep we should hang our heads in shame for the fireworks last night I don't know how we can live with ourselves What a joke!! NSW Premier Pairoftits can do no wrongThe HS’s headline article today was the quality of fireworks last night and how it was a “kick in the guts” for Victorians.
FMD… you couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried.
He’s a *smile*
Is he REALLY a Tiger supporter?Steve Price’s opening opinion statement today:
“Public servants, who have been slopping around their homes in activewear for two years now, must return to their offices after Australia Day, or risk being made redundant.” That’s his opinion. They’ve been slopping around and watch out…you’ll be made redundant !
Beyond that, he’s also demanding that all CBD businesses get their employees back to work in the office, at their desk.
Besides being a total ahole of a person, the guy is also so deluded in his view of himself that he thinks he can tell government AND big business how to run their companies ?
Egomaniacal dinosaur. Bordering on a nutter.
Unfortunately, yes.Is he REALLY a Tiger supporter?

Not in my industry. We’re already there. For the two huge insto’s I’ve worked for the last 2 or 3 years it’s dropped to 1 day a week for maybe 75% of employees and obviously because of Covid, its even higher presently. It will be interesting to see what the future holds. "Hybrid Working" is the new buzzword and 3 days a week in the office seems to be the accepted new norm, but I don't think that will last. Whether it's fair or not, those that go to the office more often will build the better networks and connections. It's also harder to get staff emotionally invested in a workplace if they only ever work from home.
Networking etc involves a lot more external meetings and get togethers. Good time to buy a coffee shop…
Agree. That was always a big thing for me when working in the office. Unfortunately, it's not just covid/WFH that's made it fade away. The face to face incidental opportunities to chat were a big part of office life. You got to meet people over a coffee or lunch from others departments, teams, etc, something that's tough when you're having just scheduled calls with people you already know or work with.
I remember the good old days when as a smoker, you were in luck if the boss smoked as well. Those 10 minutes outside with his undivided attention were gold. Obviously before mobile phones became the goto distraction device of choice.
Regrettably my last company had too many aholes and was/still is too dysfunctional for that to be the case. (Lots of press the last few years). The face to face incidental opportunities to chat were a big part of office life. I was the last standing bastion of integrity and professionalism. I only drank at my desk 2 days a week. Ok 3 if you count Friday, but who counts Friday ?Now that you've left I imagine things have changed?

I have an electronic subscription for football reasons eg NAB League videos etc and also because they cover horse racing fairly well. However, as I scroll down to find that material I’m forced to go past all of their ludicrous right wing junk which often has a headline and paragraph or two under it all.I presume this Mr Price works for one of the Murdoch rags? Why read them? It only encourages them, I have no idea who writes for the Murdoch press apart from the fact they have a lot of RWNJs, they just produce drivel so why bother.

Site really needs a filter so I can remove 99% of their content.
I know. I feel dirty. There must be an alternative? I'd do anything to avoid giving 1c to the Murdoch empire.
Actually, you should ask for a filter, if they provided one and a high proportion of people filtered out the RWNJs it might give them a message.

It’s not the opinion about the CBD. It’s suggesting that a) because people work from home they must be slacking off and b) suggesting that if they don’t stop working from home they should be made redundant which is absolute bs when so many employers now actually WANT you to work from home, something he’s gonna have to suck up as a reality nowadays.Nothing unreasonable in your commentary Red.
Go back to work. Where the boss wants. He/she/they pay you.
Active wear in general public is the new hipster jeans that people with bulging "stomachhipthighs" shouldn't wear. I puke at woollies quite often trying do my food shopping. It's not me it's them.
The CBD needs it to happen. Even though I'm I'm country bumpkin cities are pretty cool.
Everyone has an opinion, it's fair enough as a media commentator to express it in the media.
My take is, working from home means you can work from home so there will be a substantial pay cut should it become the norm. Choose the CBD.
Just saying.
