Tyler Sonsie

Cannot believe some are saying not much in it. I would be ropeable if someone did that to a Richmond player. He will get 4-6 and deserves it.

There are plenty of ways to hurt a player legally on the field without clocking them in the face

Agree. That's 1980s style thuggery. Not tough at all.

Hate seeing it in our jumper.

He looks to be carrying a bad ankle he cant push off at the contests and when he got leant on fell to ground in pain a few times, so probably cut him a little slack i reckon hes playing under duress to keep the season alive for the vfl boys as theres no midfield depth
I think he had a bad ankle injury a year or two ago? Certainly needs a better run of luck or better management if its the same one. Persistant injuries test our emotions especially if the North guy said something. No excuses.

It appears to be rather out of character for young Sonsie, and while not making any excuses for his behaviour it does beg the question of why? Violence is never the answer however understanding of the why will go a long way to future prevention for the young man over and above whatever suspension he is handed.

Imho it was a poorly executed fist/push to the chest, yes definitely reportable , yes a bit of hot headed reaction, however I doubt his intent was to give him a left to the jaw . Now before I get abused none of us know what his actual intention was , for me because I believe 71 milked it a tad it’s 2 weeks because he got up an played on .

More importantly pretty important to get this kid fit , we definitely need his foot skills forward of centre , let’s start playing kids to the strength not what dosent always come naturally

He needs to spend the summer with Kane Lambert. He can play Lambo's role if he gets fit enough. Kane was not an inside player. He could come through a stoppage at pace and get a clearance but standing under the ruckmen was not his go, and it's not Sonsie's either. That's okay, we have Taranto and Hopper and that fat bloke, number 4. Hit the fall at pace in a timely manner and whoosh, away ya go young Tyler.

Two weeks for the punch if he played for Geelong or Collingwood. So he'll get four.

Four weeks at least, clear intention punch to the jaw. Sorry Brightsider, but he's gotta go big time for this.

I’m going early on this. I believe this will be his light bulb moment. Bookmark it (y)
I really hope you are right, otherwise what a waste. The kid he hit was a 19yr old weighing in at 70kg so won’t get any points for toughness and it would be a real shame if thats all he is remembered for.
