Tyler Sonsie

Cant believe the dribble being written. Kid lashed out. Was it stupid considering he is trying to work his way into the game? Yes. I dont mind it actually. People say it was a weak act. This was the norm in the 80s. Shows a bit of mongrel. Hysterics on another level. People making it out like he hung someone. Give us a break.

I dont mind this angry side from him shows he has a bit of mongrel in him, more positive of him making it now on this act alone because before i was worried he was weak as *smile* and no fight in the dog
Wrong kind of mongrel

I think he had a bad ankle injury a year or two ago? Certainly needs a better run of luck or better management if its the same one. Persistant injuries test our emotions especially if the North guy said something. No excuses.
North bloke said he had fankles?

do this outside of a football field and it is assault
Remember Leigh Matthews????
When there is so much in the media about one punch deaths and injuries this is just a terrible terrible look
How would anyone like to be the North players parent watching him go to ground - best case a fractured jaw, worse a hit in head and maybe severe concussion or brain bleed or even death
I could not believe the Hall on Staker hit, the Gaff hit and now this - not in this day and age
I would hope the club is absolutely filthy about it

5 weeks is ridiculous. Moronic act, but the bloke was not injured and played on. Deserves no more than 3

I don't see the relevance of "the kids age & size" Sonsie is all of 12 months older and a few kgs heavier. We're not talking about a 10 year & 20kgs difference.
Sonsie is still a kid himself, sure it was a stupid thing to do & he'll pay the price for it. Hopefully he also learns from it.
The relevance is, it was a young skinny kid who did nothing to deserve the hit he got. It certainly doesn’t add to the toughness of the act as many opposition supporters have taken great delight in pointing out to me and it makes it harder to defend the actions.

I'm a bit in the middle with this.
Showed aggression & it went wrong sliding from the shoulder blow to the jaw.
Did the Norf player milk it? Probably a bit. but a blow is a blow.
Sonz is going to cop a hefty suspension.
These behind the play incidents should rightly be punished heavier, especially a blow to the head.
I'm expecting 5 weeks for a very stupid act.

TOO same thinking.

4-5 weeks for sure.

Bad look.

Putting aside for one moment how he's let his teammates down with a wildcard final coming up, he must get weeks and it shouldn't be a slap on the wrist.

Don't care who the player is, or what the provocation was, or if the other guy milked it - there's never an excuse. There's no grey area here - every AFL player knows you can't hit blokes. Do it off the field, and it's illegal.

If it was Dusty doing the same thing in a prelim I'd still want him to get weeks.

It goes into the tribunal with minimum 5 and they will ask for more. Best case now he gets 5. No way it goes lower than that.

Try and fight it 6 and above.

For those saying he milked it get over yourselves. Try getting hit flush in the jaw not expecting it. There is no way you would still be standing.

He was lying motionless on the ground. Was he concussion tested?

Tyler has had a disappointing season for himself personally and for the club. Next season will tell us whether it was second year blues.

Hopefully he uses his own disappointment, along with the post season feedback he receives, has a big preseason and shows us what a good player that he has the potential to be.

5 weeks! Do we get a Richmond Tax discount considering it's VFL?
