Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

Cost us the game. Cheating. Facts.

The frees we don’t receive have nothing to do with the alleged ‘way we play‘, which is a convenient and self fulfilling narrative.

If Hawkins uses two hands to push the player in front of him in the back to take a mark, that’s in the back.
If Baker is tackled around the neck, that’s too high.
If Lynch is contacted from in front and held at the same time, take your pick.
If a cats player takes off down the field and is run down and tackled and doesn’t get rid of it, that’s holding the ball
If a cats player is tackled and disposes with one hand, that’s throwing the ball
If Rioil handballs to the ground to elude his defender and runs to get his own handball but is held back by the defender, that’s holding the man.
If Short has a mark in the middle of the ground and there’s no man on the mark and he moves forward in a straight line to kick the ball and the umpire hasn’t called play on yet and a cats player runs past him in the protected area (regardless of a man taking the mark or not), that’s a 50m penalty.

and so on and so forth…

Ok, so we give away what we give away sure (even then, there were some fairly dubious ones tonight), but we simply just do not receive anywhere near the frees we should and it shows time and again both in isolation and when compared to other sides over extended periods.

Some statistics are so anomalous as to almost appear to be by design.
These are only the rules which 17 other teams are umpired by. There is another rulebook for Richmond. They won't show it to us but we all know what it says.

I’m not going to get into the free kicks discussion but I will say that there is no excuse at all for the umpires not stopping the game when Dion Prestia was knocked senseless.
That was not showing a duty of care for the player. There are 3 of them out there and they can communicate with each other.
Inexcusable
Looks like the “ common sense” rule only applies one way in our games

If Hawkins moves off the mark BEFORE the umpire calls "play on" that's a 50.

We just don't get the frees the opposition get simple as that that's what it comes to. That's how we play alot of BS yeah maybe 2 or 3 free kicks we a over minus 50 on the free kick ladder.

As for those 3 clowns on the ground today useless couldn't even make a simple decision with Prestia play went on for 3 minutes no duty of care umpires are protected species in the afl.

Post match. Dimma explains to the gallery that we manipulated the sub as per the rules.

Chris Scott responds that he didn't understand the rules. Admires Richmond and will research.

Everything is obvious - play on.

Subtext - Hardwck is saying we got one on your twin, you ref rorting slime. Scott is saying he never liked the twin and he won.

Absolutely nailed it Mac, unfortunately you missed the obvious flaw in your rant. *smile* maggot firstly has to have his eyes open to be able to see the infringement, otherwise it's simply play on.

Third qtr, our forward pocket n four times the Moggies deliberately took the ball out of bounds n got more blatant about it each time the maggots refused to call insufficient intent. Last qtr Rossy gets slung as he's kicking into our forward n hacks it out free kick Geelol.

Gets more ridiculous by the game . How is this even possible?Screenshot_2022-06-26-07-26-19-41_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

Great post, it's those missed frees that is killing us. There were probably 10 obvious ones that you wouldn't call 50/50. They're not going to get all those right but even half of those and we probably win this game.

Here is something to add - our last week’s senior umpire was Nathan Williamson. Previously one who had reamed us very badly.
We actually won the free kick count against the Blues. And guess what happened to Williamson?
He was dropped . I wonder why?

The opposition Coach's brother is the head of football and basically hires and fires anyone he dosent like.
Its not like the umpires today were not going to assist the cats.
Only in the AFL can you have the head of football have a brother who is a coach in the same competition.
Today had all the hallmarks of bias A1 umpiring.
They saw all the ones for the cats but accidentally on purpose saw none against us.
In a spate of 10 seconds, the Viking was holding Lynch and then grab him by the neck and then Clarke got pushed in the back, all play on, but luckily Bolton was able to mark and kick a goal.
And the man he took the job from brought in rules purely to hamper one team, then ran off to lead said club after the job was done……….. that’s FIFA level corruption right there.

And with Prestia out for the count being attended to by the club doctor and trainers play should be stopped !!!!! F-me the ball was almost kicked right over the top of them !!!!

It's unbelievable. Then they wonder why people aren't turning up
Hocking the knob brought in the 666 and the stand rule to derail us.
And now Scotts brother is the head of football. God help us.
We have no chance.
Unless Gale gets the job this will continue till they leave us like nth Melbourne

The umps aren't stupid, they knew was faking. I can't believe the Tigers took the dastardly plan all the way and subbed him out.

Perhaps the rule will now be changed.
I'd actually put money on it.

AFL are so worried about the “look of the game” then that was terrible for it.

To their credit the commentators were imploring the umps to stop the game. Lyon was almost incredulous. How did all 3 umpires not make that call?
