Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

Why wasn't he picked last year? Presumed discipline issues?

Probably like Stack, clubs didnt get close enough to him to know his story.
There’s no question over his football ability, I think it’s probably the offield story of a bloke who’s been in jail and has 4 kids, moving over to Melbourne - probably don’t want a Tim Kelly go home situation or someone with questions hanging over their behavioural attitudes.

We aint geelong. No one wants to leave richmond.

Another WA player.

Not sure about the pick. Definitely not a Stack situation at 27 years old. But in the end it's really just a free hit so nothing to lose. What's the contract requirement for mid season draft picks?

They way I understand it is Signs on for $50,000 if we don't offer him a contract in 2020 he gets another $20,000

I want this bloke, Towner, Martin, Nank and Stack to all play Rd19.

Its a very tantalising prospect Dasher

The more injuries we get, the better and faster and tougher we seem to get

We are like a footy magic pudding

a hungry jacks loyalty card fell out of his pocket at a meeting with one of the clubs

and so the whole industry heard he was really deeply troubled

Player gets $50,000 for remainder of season and then we can either keep them on list or if they get cut player receives another $20,000 termination payout.
So a $70,000 free hit. Very happy to take the risk on an obviously talented player and fail than a ho hum selection with little likelihood of success.

so at best, we get a triple premiership super hero

and at worst, we do 70 grand on an option we dont exercise?

Im not convinced that we aren't running the RFC these days?

our wish seems to be our command?

:partyfest

I’m not going to 2nd guess Matt Clarke.
I have no doubt he’s done his absolute best in this draft.

I do wonder how successful these pick ups will be.
There will be a huge disparity between diamonds and rocks.

But guys like lambert Broady prove there are people out there who can play.

That is why you gamble on a rough diamond passed over for reasons other than talent as opposed to rocks passed over on talent alone.

Perfect free hit that can be dumped in 4 months if it doesn't work out reopening the list spot.

Marlion is Dusty's age. Maurice Rioli turned 25 the year we shoehorned him out of south free. :afro

this is such an exciting free selection

Assuming for thirty seconds he doesn't play for us this year, then we have paid 50k to get him to the club, fit, oriented on our game plan and raring to go next year.
Plus the 20k if he doesn't for whatever reason fit with the club is a pretty cheap send-off.

Far better than a late pick at the upcoming National draft with the two year contract and the risk of a poor fit hanging around. + you have saved six months of time for the guy's development in the RFC culture/game-plan. + no issue of someone picking him up first.

Not seeing much of a down side here. Except will Shai Bolton end up getting squeezed in 2020? He's at that stage where he will want/expect more opportunities. Just a thought.

Pickett a midfielder from what I can tell. Won't be taking Shai's spot.

Looks great and can move but kind of fat. What's his tank like? In a pro environment it'll fall off.
