When only a minute into the game and he’d been outmarked and had a goal against him it was looking like deja vu all over again

At that stage he might have gone into his shell but instead he recovered and did some good work including taking attacking options at times.

Easily his best game this year, more like the Young we thought we had,

Has played 200 minutes on Van Champion and owned him for roughly 195 of them.

Apart from BT calling him Miller every time he touched the pill, thought he went alright last night.

Best AFL game he’s ever played. Looked assured, went for and took marks, got involved in plays and gained meterage. All whilst keeping his opponent in check.

Best game of the year from Tylar. Was composed in the contest and used the ball well. Hope he can take some confidence from that into the rest of the season.

Did well and kept going.
Different from melbourne's full back player, everytime May's opponent marked he was looking around at the other players and blasting them.

Top game from Young I thought.

Granted, Melbourne’s key forward stocks ain’t blue chip but he acquitted himself very well. Hopefully a turning point for the season, particularly as we head into winter and the goals dry up.

From a poor start to the season and an inauspicious start to the game on Wednesday, he knuckled down and gave a pretty good workmanlike performance. Seems to be playing in the style of Grimes at times and is coming on OK. Will probably will be Dylan's replacement in the coming seasons especially if Miller cements the Astbury role.

Tylar Young. Mm. Ok. He's not a tall. Is he a total dud? Probably.

He did well last week when he played high. He got Vandenhoogenmidget up the park and spoiled him. Or outmarked somebody else. He was up the park in the first half and intercepted. He is a very good user unless he panics (rare). Nice clean mark too. Nice skills.

Remember last year when Noah Balta made 30 mistakes in three games and was removed from the backline? Balta made 8 mistakes. Young kept letting it out the back, spoiling into the corridor, falling over or being worked onto his nonexistent left. He made most of the mistakes. But the narrative...

Is Tylar Young a below average full back? Here's a list of all the other #1 backs. Where do you rate Tylar Young?

LOL and we have to carry his bags , because when he runs out on the field in an AFL game he's ahead of most if not all of the posters here :)

the way this season has turned out he will get more time to grow into good AFL defender

how long did Rance & Astbury take ? We screamed for them to be delisted for a fair while

I thought Garthwaite would have made it because he could really dominate in VFL games , but his awkward kicking style was exposed at AFL level

I seriously don't know if Taylar will make it , he seemed to go backwards this year due to an interrupted preseason but is building again
fingers crossed for Taylar for both him and the Club

Rookie pick who's played all of 25 games. Had himself a strong season in a bog ordinary side with some massive coaching upheaval last year. Comes into this season behind the 8 ball off shoulder surgery n some are already lining up on him FMD.
Got me no idea whether he'll be an almost player, a reasonable player or a good player but geez it'd be nice if sometimes we could keep our fingers off the trigger n consider all the relevant info before killing his career.
