When did the AFL start hating Richmond?

The fixtures in 2019 ended up with 7 games at the G, at the expense of a much harder start to the year. That could have backfired and had our season over before we got that benefit.
We played, Collingwood, Melbourne, GWS and Port twice. Carlton was the soft team we played twice.

I think it could have been harder, but the "ease" is overstated too.

you're preaching to the choir, mate. We had a very difficult draw, but the likes of Cornes look at it through salty eyes.

I didn't know Cornes looked through those eyes. He normally talks out his...

On Sen Cornes Healy and Hoye were talking everything good clubs are doing.
Then Hoye said since records started with champion data in 2010 No side has lost 2 games in a row after leading by 4 goals in the 1st qtr.
The Grim Reaper Healy said 'when do you see Richmond playing finals"
Then the toxic avenger Cornes said Richmond supporters wouldn't care, some clubs haven't won 2 flags let alone 3 in 4 years.
Has anyone noticed we are fielding a VFL Team that almost beat Carlton and Stkilda and was leading against Port.

Has anyone noticed the Sydney love has disappeared the minute we beat them..

I mean he's not wrong, the fact we had that run meant all of this *smile* going on now is bearable.

Peggy, Benny, Dimma and the team did not care about the AFL's attitude, nor the umpires bias and probably still don't.
Better being hated than pitied.

Who would you rather be Richmond/Hawthorn or North/Stkilda???
We will take 10 years to regroup and become a challenger again.
I don't want Richmond 2013 or 2014
I want Richmond 2018-2019-2020.

Healy said only Geelong have shown a capacity to stay competitive.
With great list management.
They can stay competitive for the next 1000 years. Who gives a flying *smile* about being competitive. It's about flags.
Geelong are a soft belly football club.
All my life I've seen Geelong constantly get mangled when it counts.
1980 against us.
1989, 1992, 1994, 1995, 2008, 2020.
And the countless times they have been knocked out in the finals.

Cats have been kissed on dik, when tassie enters , Hawkins Stewart and even Cameron will be gone , they’ll then look much like the side we fielded on Sunday

Steve Hocking was appointed to AFL General Manager of Football Operations in August 2017.
We've been last on the free kick count ever since.

Over the last 5 years differential Free Kicks For & Against is Richmond minus 332 with Hawthorn next minus 108. Got to be agenda against the Tigers when Tigers miss out on Free kicks which opponent sides get week in week out. Sundays two 50 metre rulings where just mind boggling. First how was LeFau to exit the no go Zone. Tip toe out of the Tulips. The second , siren had gone . CDF sic Common Dog Funk is just not in umps grey matter when it comes to The Tigers. They have been brainwashed.

They umpire to the letter of the law against us. Technically, the Dow and Lefau 50’s were there, but both could have been let go and other than a rabid Freo supporter everyone would said they were common sense decisions. If it had been the other way that’s probably what would have happened. Todays umpires have no feeling for the game at all.

Cotch said the 2020 hub got the AFLs back up.
that smells right
add all the things together
in 2017 we did have a more pressure and tackle focused game and that gives away free kicks

and a widespread view we fluked it , which bred jealousy and distain not admiration

Dusty gets the brownlow and bingo more frees to Dusty , but that looks like swimming against the tide these days

there were mutterings of not fair not right after getting Prestia & Lynch from GC

was there too many Geelong sympathisers in AFL HQ

Geelong weren't right in 2017 , but 2019 QF and 2020 GF will have hurt Geelong deeply
and again jealousy , hate , distain not oh wow they are too good

Balme and his spray to the visiting umps preseason , and his blunt views to the media

The media speculation around Gale walking into the top job

throw the Hub incidents into that mix

and we don't know what passing smug comments have been made behind the scenes that have rubbed people up the wrong way

the big clean out at Punt Rd that is happening hopefully can leave this *smile* behind
might take a season or two for it to fade and then , fingers crossed , we can have a serious tilt

Can anyone break down the free kicks in 2017 by game?
Might work out the exact moment it happened

I think it goes back to the 1900s and the forfeited GF. Seriously though we've had no real representation at head office since Alan Schwab. The hate is real. Why? I think it reflects other sides, our rivals, having good representation, historic grudges and rivalries, (which only insiders would know about), and that our good management over the last 15 years or so, on field and off, have made them look bad.

Ive wondered if its an old class thing - irish catholic workers?

But arent collingwood based on that too?

Yeah i think its a self-perpetuating multilayered persistent *smile*-storm headwind; a long cultural grudge.

Hatfields and mccoys all the way to israel and palestine

without them, historians would all be taxidermists

what musta St.Kilda did?

Started in 1885.
Even before the comp was formed.
The bias goes back a long way.
And even our Grand Finals wins were challenged, until desired result was achieved by oppo.
