Surely Briggs would rather be at GWS where he has Mumford teaching him the ropes?

Mummy will instill a bit of white line fever into the young lad.

Ok, I'm offline for awhile but assuming GWS take Briggs (and they'd be mad not) I'll instead select Jacob Kennerley from SA. He's a wingman who performed exceedingly well at the carnival & has also played some solid reserves footy. Could feasibly get games next year.

Damn !! He was my next selection for Richmond ...................... Nearly had him

Nope, I would have taken him.

Before you go, bullus, the Bombers bid on Bulldogs NGA prospect Buku Khamis.

Matched, we like Buku and his athleticism. Definitely one of the better general defenders in the pool.

Thought you might.

The Bombers need to get a wriggle on if they want to achieve anything, with Hurley and Zaka turning 29 next year, Hooker 31, Bellchambers 30, Heppell 27, Myers 30, Ambrose 28, and even Shiel and Smith will be 26.

Everyone is on the lookout for the next Tim Kelly and we love a shortcut at Tullamarine, so we're going for South Fremantle B&F Marlion Pickett. The 26-year-old moved from half-back to the midfield this year, replacing Kelly, and excelled. He had a couple of big finals, including 26 disposals and 4 goals in the qualifying final, and 25 and 2 in the semi.

183cm, 85kg, spent time in the joint as a young man but has his life on track. Tough ball-winner with pace, skills, and the ability to take a hanger, we didn't want to take the risk someone else would snap him up before our next pick in the 60s.

After 2 kids, Lions are looking to add some size. So we select Riley Bowman from Dandenong. He can play ruck and forward which we like. Will fill out nicely and be a good ballast to the lanky Hipwood

Pick #44 Richmond select
James Rowbottom - Oakleigh Chargers football club / VM
186cm 79kgs
D.O.B - 19/9/200

Predominantly inside midfielder that has nice size and flair and has developed his game nicely

"One of the draft crop's big bolters, the hard-working midfielder steadily improved his inside craft throughout the year to average 21.9 disposals and 6.5 tackles per game.
He was rewarded with four appearances for Vic Metro at the national under-18s championships, doing his draft prospects no harm with his reliable performances.

Biggest downside to James is he is the Nephew of the former Richmond & Collingwood player now flog - Brian Taylor
