Brandon Ellis

Bobble seemed to lose a spring tonight, but it didn't hurt us too much

Never seen Ellis as a tagger. Dimma experimenting last night.
When we need to tag slick mid size midfielders Bolton is worth a try.

Short Houlli and Ellis in one team is not ideal. Said thing for Short is Ellis does better squibbing a contest than short does putting his body in.

Blotted his copybook with that effort at half back. Kick could have been better but he was clear enough, and we all know he can brace and take the mark in worse situations. Frustrating. He was OK generally though.

How many times does he shirk it? The rest of the side makes up for it but it’s those soft efforts that can cost you in pressure games.

The kick set him up to get hurt. But he wasn’t willing to get hurt unfortunately.

Why would you be willing to get hurt. You get hurt, you miss games. Use awareness to ensure you keep playing and help the team. Never got that you need to get injured and the applause makes up for ruining your career. Drummond comes to mind, made a mistake, then tried a corageous act that ruined his knee and his career.

There’s a difference between getting injured and getting hurt. Back in to any pack and you’ll likely cope a knee in the back which will hurt but not necessarily injured. More likely getting injured taking a screamer and falling 2m than Brandon committing to that mark.

Was nowhere near anyone else to get hurt, he just thought there was and skimped it. It was a poor effort, he didn't want to put his body on the line in the wet. Saying that thought both Sidebottom and Phillips were pretty ineffectual unlike in Round 2 so credit there.
