Ellis can let himself down when under pressure. **** himself.

We all know it and so do the coaches.

But Dimma loves him in the side. It makes him sleep better at night.

Why? Because Ellis is critical, critical, to our game plan.

When the oppo get the ball off us, we assume our defensive structure like lightning. Quickest in the league.

Ellis is a guy we depend on to make position all game. He will run to position all day long. He releases Lambert into the forward 50 and allows Houli to play back.

Most of what Ellis does is just run. No one sees the hole he takes, the second option the oppo must take.

Structure is bible to Hardwick. Ellis is the book of genesis.
I’ve read this before, with one difference. Replace ‘ellis’ with ‘kmac’.

Having said that, I’d prefer Kmac in a final.

The RFC had a magnificent 47 point victory over a very good opponent in a hostile environment in the QF. The club is now in a preliminary final. The club has won 10 games in a row in a brutally tough competition. The club has won 34 of the last 37 games at the MCG. The club is a very good chance of winning a premiership this year (even with Ellis in the team, as selected by the RFC match committee). Perhaps you could just try to enjoy the current situation and success of the RFC instead of torturing yourself (and the readers of the PRE forum) with your apparent negative obsession over Ellis.

Zzzzzzzzzz he is still shittt

God this guy consumes some oxygen here. As I see it Brando is in a tight spot. We are only offering a short duration contract. Why? Because there are a number of players queueing up for his spot next year. He is I think not going to get any better. The MC would be fully aware of this.

I don’t know if you’re referring to me or to Brando with your oxygen remark but if it’s the first: well I agree; if it’s the 2nd: well this is the Ellis thread.

I’m a fan of Ellis. But if he’s going: I wish we would get finals games into Ross or Menadue.

I didn’t like it last year when we put two finals games into Conca and then he walks.

Wouldn’t have bothered me if we’d won last year and Conca walked

Any expert on here prepared to take a stab at what sort of compo pick we'll get with that offer?
Nowhere near an expert, but at 26 y.o. in the prime age of his career, nearing 200 games, experienced finals player and on $600 plus per year for 4/5 years it should rightfully be an end of first round pick as compo.
Knowing how the AFL shuffles n manipulates their secret criteria it wouldn't surprise me if we had to pay Mould Coast an extra player or pick instead.

Are you saying I should post less?

I’m not whipping Ellis at all.
Ellis is a premiership hero and he should have got conca’s spot in the finals last year.
I hope he stays but if he’s definitely leaving, someone else should be in the team:

Not saying that at all TF. All I am saying is this guy gets up to 20+ posts most days (that's what I meant as "oxygen") yet Dusty, Cotch etc get the odd one or 2. Ambivalent whether he goes or stays as I can't see him being best 22 this time next year. The next couple of games the MC will decide and they generally get it right. The other point was if he goes who is going to be everyones favourite whipping boy next year. Be even harder if KMac gets shipped out as well.?

Ok you meant the amount of posts about Ellis.

Yeah I don’t believe in having whipping boys.
They are players at Richmond that are living our dreams and contributing their utmost to our clubs
The discipline to stick to a diet and do their training is incredible.

Ellis is just no good. He doesn’t compliment our side he just makes it weakens it.
We aren’t playing for potatoe chips. Some of us have spent our entire lives of watching *smile* players like Ellis walk through our doors and the club achieving nothing.
And now we are a strong club and a club challenging for flags. I won’t accept players that consistently play poorly.
The sooner he leaves the better.
He is our Achilles heal, alongside Short and Carthwaite.

Reported Bummers will also have a crack at getting him
Itd be sad to see a premiership player whos always in our best 22 go BUT but but best of luck getting long term deal on big buck$ the more the better
Looking forward to first round pick as compo
