There is something not right about this story and I'm not suggesting anything like has been talked.I still can't get my head around it no farewell speech online, no Dimma comments and that Cotch interview didn't seem right for me.Whatever it is club needs to go on front foot and put it to bed if it's internal.
No matter how much we don't like it I totally agree. There is nothing right about his retirement. From how it was done and when it was done.

Nah, biggest challenge were the ferals and media who we're calling for Dimma and Peggy's heads in 2016, even go as far as supporting the muppets that were FoF.

This is just *smile* social media frenzy that will affect some segment of the fans more than it will the club.

LOL i dare say your history of richmond is only 10 years old then. We had far bigger challenges over the past 4 decades than that mini "Peggy & Ben" board challenge.

The idea that this means nothing & is just a social media story makes me laugh. Just one of the social media's has a faarrrrr bigger audience than any of our media sources. If the story is catching fire on social media, then it is catching fire.

  • Jack Higgins girlfriend has denied there are any troubles in their relationship
  • The Richmond Tigers star had a tough year with a brain bleed and surgery
  • His girlfriend, Tenisha Crook, says they are together and denies 'putrid rumours'
  • Online threads discussing the rumours have been suddenly shut down
  • Many Tigers fans noted that no current Tigers players had wished Rance well
  • Rance says he retired to prioritise his spiritual growth, friends and family
  • Do you know more? Contact [email protected]

The story is getting more warped because there is so many blanks in the story. Rance is basically saying he reisgned to spend more time with his family and god - yet the rumor is they have seperated with possible adultery? If the latter is true, then claiming to retire to focus on your religion seems a little false and distasteful.

The announcement came across as rushed, manic and totally not thought out. The retirement seems like a temporary solution to a "now" problem. The issue is, the problem is not solved and the proposed "solution" ( rance retiring) is something that can only be played once. Eventually Rance, Dimma, Trent or Benny will need to comment on this.

Yep and lets all be clear - This needs to be a CLUB FIRST thing. The perspection now is, they are protecting Rance at the cost of the entire playing group will become toxic, quickly.

You are putting 2 & 2 together & coming up with something other than 4

Stop talking & thinking about it & it will be fine

In Balmey, Dimma, Peggy & Benny we trust

i will not let one player and his religious beliefs a dn quirky behaviour stuff it all up. Just because you were a key part in building something, does not give you a green light to do **** that can potentially bring it down.
Oooooh! Whatcha gunna do about it, call ghostbusters?
FFS. Whatever's happened or not happened is now next door to irrelevant. Tross has announced retirement to sort out n fix his life..................................Next! One player does not make a team, if wants or needs out so be it move on.
Perhaps he's discussed with the players to leave the social media side of things alone to aid his departure n sorting of his life, every player has truck loads of fans n friends n maybe part of his family problems have been the " social " media side of his life n he was trying to avoid an out pouring dross.

If any of the players or anyone in management had the slightest inkling that he'd supposedly done the dirty on a team mate, does anyone really think that he'd be kept on the list for next year just in case he wanted to come back? Not a chance in hell. An issue like that would be a major cancer to any club n would have been carved out n nuked immediately.

Whatever Tross's family / life issues are I simply wish him well n thank him for all the years of effort n enjoyment he gave us fans. All of this opinionated speculation n dribble from people who have absolutely no idea, but a hot keyboard n pretend knowledge is pathetic n disgraceful, social media my arse. Nothing but a destructive weapon left out for everyone to play with.

This is, by far, the biggest challenge we have had to our modern dynasty, Richmond failed onfield for 40 years because they couldn't sort out their offield **** Anyone who thinks this is under control externally or internally for the club, is deluded. it will be a time bomb

You need to calm down and stop shifting the goalposts if you want reasonable debate. You said this is the biggest threat to our Modern Dynasty. It's not, not even close.

If you want to expand it out 40 years, this little skirmish is even less of a threat.

The only ones getting all hot under the collar and agitated are the RFC supporters who are being hooked and reeled in by the social media trolls and the media click-bait departments.

Rance quit to concentrate on family. You can choose to believe him or choose to believe the rumour mongers where the main protagonist seems to have pulled his Twitter account for fear of repercussions as a result of his rumour mongering. There isn't any reason why anyone who purports to support out club to not believe Rance at this point in time.

I’m happy to give the club and Alex full privacy. Depending on how his relationship situation turns out, he seems a chance to return and that’s probably why it’s been a soft retirement.

As for the media... it’s just media.

No big deal.

You take the daily AFL dribble too seriously. It’s nowhere near as important as you decide to think it is.

I’ve been AFL media-free for about 24 months now and it’s been awesome, it’s changed my perspective. Relax, it’s not worthy of your stress and it won’t hurt the club.

Where there is smoke there is fire. Some are just scrub fires others raging bush fires .Here in the West the word ia a fire at Punt Road has not been contained & will be difficult to contain.

Fair old bit of hyperbole going on here with some posters twisting their knickers over this topic, almost revelling in it....

I love all the conspiracy theories doing the rounds. However, whatever happened, if something did happen or didn't happen, the fact is Alex has retired from footy and we have to move on as a unified club in total without him. If our club culture and belief is what we think it is we can think of our third premiership in four years at the end of 2020 so forget recriminations etc and look forward

My thoughts too. Have thought long and hard and there are so many questions about the whole thing. This is what fuels the innuendo. I don't buy the Higgins stuff but there is other stuff we don't know. I query whether we have a right to know though. Maybe none of our beeswax

Some on here are really getting a bit worked up over speculation without any facts. All we know is he and his missus sold their house in Brighton in September then he announced his retirement just before his split with his wife hit the newspapers. He might be retired for good or he might be buying some time to get his life sorted out, we don't know. It's holiday time so absolutely no need for RFC to comment on any social media gossip. To suggest this is in anyway like North/Carey, based on the currently known facts is ridiculous. Relax and have a drink to celebrate the New Year and perhaps a toast to Alex on a fine career...so far.

Carey was forced to leave the club. He was the reason, the difference, between finalists and premiers. The club wasn't divided, at least not according to one of their board. They were all *smile* off beyond belief, but it they all pretty much thought he was a dog and wanted to stick it up him.
I think someone on this thread are looking for a falling sky, when all it was, is an acorn. Can't see the logic in them pushing a player out for cheating (supporting whomever has been cheated on), then having Jack and Rioli makes posts like that.
I don't know what time Days of our lives is on, but maybe some could find their drama there.

Well said General. There’s a lot of chicken littling going on all over the place about this.
