AFL360

The players fought very hard to have part of their salaries tied to the revenue generated by the game. Well they won that right now they need to suck it up.

Jack was a horrible sales person last night. His efforts to convince people that the players want to play 22 games because they love the game and not because fewer games will impact their pay packet were pitiful at best. I haven't seen Jack like that since those iconic images of him running away for journo's and trying to flee by train without a Myki card.

Agreed, big picture needs to be looked at here. Do they want a job next season too, as if they get paid 100% there is no guarantee that 18 clubs will make it to next year if they push for this.

A lot of people will be asked to make this decision too, there won't be many companies wanting to make permanent employees redundant as it will drain cash at a time when they are trying to retain cash, so will most likely ask permanent employees to either take a pay cut, or more likely take leave without pay, which if say was 1 week out of 4 would result in around a 25% paycut (before tax). If the AFL players think they can avoid what everyone else is going through, then they are truly living in cloud cuckoo land.

Many players (including Dangerfield I believe?) have been saying the season is too long and the demands on them too great; pitching for a shorter season. As soon as that opportunity is presented due to unprecedented circumstances they decide to take the opposite stance

As the old saying goes; "Money talks and *smile* walks".

Thank God for Nick Riewalt.... He might just save this insipid show. He is articulate, passionate, smart and is not afraid to stand up to those two idiots... Very much look fwd to seeing him on any show that he gets on. I think he will be a breath of fresh air on all of these stagnat old footy shows....

Did anyone hear that peanut David King come up with a bright idea the other night?

Reckons if a team gets out to a 30 point lead the game should be called off by invoking the mercy rule.

Going by his logic last nights game would have been called off sometime in the 1st quarter!

Bloke's a moron.

Yep, said it before, he’s proof that jus because you played the game at the highest level doesn’t actually mean you understand it.

Actually there was over 8.30 left in first qtr when we kicked the 5th. I'd heard kingsight the night before bring it up on 360, it was so great we did it after about 10 minutes of play. He really really wants to say something of note (before it happens) to gain some sort of rep as a guru. Unfortunately he is only good at telling you after something happens why it happened - which is usually entirely useless for predicting future events. Good old kingsight.

Considering Carlscum would have lost the game about ten minutes into the first qtr and then be denied the opportunity of an inspiring fight back by the middle of the last qtr.
I'd say that calling King a peanut or a moron is far to lenient and respectful.

Mercy rule would destroy the validity of percentage in establishing ladder position.
would obviously destroy the possibility of a team fight back.
would rob fans of their paid for entertainment.
would destroy the validity of the annual Coleman medal.
would destroy the validity of the Brownlow medal.
There's probably another hundred reasons one could find to prove that King is just a brainless big mouthed click bait flog of the highest order, but that would lend his *smile* some undeserved relevance.

So he can squeeze in more ads no doubt. What a joke.

Unbelievable.
No crowds.
No pressure.
Looked like a February preseason game.
And now its good enough to change the game again.
If you thought Demitirou changed the game, this bloke has ruinued the game we grew up loving.

Whats next 3 steps and you must release the ball or no kicking backwards

We shouldnt whinge,
because we have won 2 out of the last 3.
But seriously every chance they get they seem open to changing the game.

Anyone hear Lloyd last night on footy Confidentshiit?
Collingwood are his tip for the flag.
No one was talking about flags or teams form.
We will be lucky to see AFL again this year, let alone enough games to call it a season.
Maybe Lloyd thinks if you win 3 in a row you should be crowned premiers.
He isnt made for footy shows.
nearly everything he says is wrong or turns out to be full of shiit.
Good players dont necessarily make good commentators.
He is one of the worse.

& based on 1 game as well. Didn't the Pies spank us in round 2 last year as well , that turned out well for them. Ridiculous like you said zips that he was even talking about that things like that given the current plight.

It wasn't the time to talk about FORM,
The comp is on its knees and je brings up who win the flag after 1 game.
The bloke is a dumbshhit.

This was bound to happen. Hocking will be all over this like a fly on a piece of dead meat. He needs to keep changing the rules to keep his sinecure of a job. Wonder if he is being laid off or taking a pay cut if nothing else?

I had no interest in watching any of the talking head footy shows this past week and a half, pointless really especially seeing the season is done.

Pontificating and prognosticating over nothing.

Waste of time.

Move along everyone its done . Let it go and concentrate on whats really important right now.
