Obviously I won’t give too many details here, however I caught up with one of my best mates growing up yesterday who has only recently been realesed from prison for some serious crime . The 2 big things that made me think of Syds situation was Trust and forgiveness , firstly he said Jail had *smile* him , crushed the life out of him , the good thing is he’s petrified of going back so won’t make another mistake, secondly he comes from a well known local sporting family, he said he understands but nobody will give him a second chance re working ,I know out of the 20 or so group we were involved in growing up , inc some of his family about half will not communicate with him , pretty much the rest are at a minimum with him, hard to turn your back on someone who always had yours , however the trust in the town is broken for good . Syd is not doing hard time like my mate did, however it could effect him greatly , good or bad, and most importantly whats the trust level Syd has with people around him, family, friends and the football club both in his eyes and all the eyes glaring back at him.
Only time will tell .
