C Caddy Martin McIntosh

HF Castagna Lynch Edwards

That’s it for mine, too. Caddy’s earned it, and Aarts didn’t impress on Friday night.

What's the chance Dion doesn't get up and we throw Riley in.....? No disrespect to the blues, but if we can win the GF a man down, surely we could beat this mob if he's a tad overawed!

Outs : Houli (inj) Prestia (inj)
Ins : RCD (debut) Caddy (redemption)

Dion, will play, he said on Friday if it had of been finals he would have played but caution and another 2 weeks of training under his belt will see him cherry ripe to go round 1.

Not wishing injuries for any players, but I do hope we get to see the likes of CCJ, RCD, Aarts, Ross, Stack and Dow getting a few games during the season.
The Richmond list is bursting with talent and must be the envy of the competition.
They will play interstate games to allow the likes of Cotch or Edwards or Houli or Prestia a rest if required Id say and they will also filter in and out over the season and play a game or 2 here and there to keep em hungry and interested.

Aarts will play more games then the others he's best 25 as of now post GF and we know already that a fit and focussed Stack is best 22.

Going forward if he gets right and is fighting fit and up for it Stack could well be the Ace up our sleeve as the season draws to the pointy end.

Hardwick loves Aarts... but who does he replace? Rioli?...thought he looked good the other night too.
I think Aarts is the most likely out of the 22 to come in , hard to play Him in front of George, Rioli and Lambert imho, wouldn’t mind him playing and playing on Saad though

Pretty easy for round 1 if all available bar Bash and Soldo.

Jakey is sitting in 22 or 23rd spot right now i reckon.

I feel that if Dion is fit he misses out.

Not with Caddy fit and playing well.

They will likely rotate Pickett and Grover through Half Back and Wing rotaions, as they did with Grover in the GF.

The other question is who goes out to make way for Houli when he’s fit?
He may not make it back, especially if he has setbacks.

I cant see Bash being rushed back in at all, I think they will let him get right over time and build him towards the second half of the season and they will do the same with Stacky once he gets back.

Should he make it back fit then undoubtedly by then there will be injuries here and there and or suspensions as there is every season.

For mine the Blues wont be easy in round 1 not at all they have more pre season under their belts and their side is improving.

They;ll come hard at us very hard and we will need to be ready and up for it.

??? on Dion and Kane

Aarts, Martyn, Riley and Chol next in line looking for a round 1 spot if Kane or Dion don't get up in time.

Dow and Ross I'm not sure where they are in the pecking order but things can change before round 1.

I had them in front of Martyn and Riley before the Dees game.

Ross might have the advantage with his size and experience to go against Cripps and Williams and etc.

Chol for height only if needed not because he deserves a spot.

They may well play Chol because of the need for a second ruck, but he is in because CCJ is suspended. When CCJ's suspension ends Chol will be in trouble unless he can step up.

What an amazing situation we have - so many talented youngsters who can't get a game because we are having trouble fitting in seasoned and proven players. We could pick a best 26 and the other clubs would be including our last 4 in their best 22.

We already have a back seven of:

Short Balta Bakes
Vlaustin Astbury Grimes
Plus Broad

No need to replace any of that back seven at this point and Eggs is in a fight just to get back on our list.

I still remember the days we didn't have 22 AFL quality players. We had a best 12-15 and the rest. I don't miss those days.

Agree Craig - long season. Plenty of opportunities to give these guys a go (even if we dont get injuries). I think Ross is just ahead of RCD but its a pretty close thing. Aarts will be ready to replace any of the small forwards. The 2nd ruck is also interesting. Longer quarters, less interchanges may mean more need to play 2nd ruck. I still think our preferred model was to play the 2nd ruck even last year (Chol just didn't show enough). Whether that means CCJ or Chol replaces comes in for Houli or they prefer an extra mid (probably Ross) and use Balta to pinch hit. May also depend on how many bigs Carlton play.
