It was a great game - I was surprised how fast it appeared - a real finals type game.

We had our chances in the last couple of minutes but Dusty and George stuffed up. Our instinct is to play on quickly but unfortunately it didn’t work this time - their goal to win it was all class. Both teams looked out on their feet but big players tend to win those types of games and so advantage to them.

BUT the two umpire goals in the last quarter killed us - make no mistake, the umpire influenced this game and influenced that last quarter - to call those frees against Grimes and Pickett was just criminal.

Epic games like that are extremely hard to win every time, we have done our fair share the last 4 years.
Even so I think the Richmond premiership team would've seen the game out. Don't think we are that this year.

We used to win with something in the tank. Now we're losing, often enough, after spending everything.

Alot of angry posts about tonights result.
Seriously?

Yes we made errors, but I can never be angry at these guys who have won 3 of the last 4 flags.
We still havent played so many of the bottom sides, when we do our % will go up as well as our ladder position.
Prestis and Nank and Lynch and Cotchin are massive outs, they were missing Kelly, no one else.
Have faith Tiger army, we dont have to make top 4 to win it again!
Cotchin played tonight

We aren’t cooked, Jesus Christ.

We just aren’t making top four, that’s all.

Looked at the ladder today and it pained me to see Geelong boring everyone on their way to third position.

Best we can hope is a home EF against the mob who just heisted is.

The 1st and last quarters were a constant display of poor decision making, lack of composure and missed opportunities. Frustrating to watch us *smile* a game away like that

yep. we lost it with skill error. The vlastuin kick out was every bit as bad as bachars against freo back in the day, even in context

the dangerous tackle in front of goal WAS the WORST decision ive ever seen in my life,

but we lost it with 1. really *smile* foot skill, 2. having to fly return to WA twice in 9 days and 3. being forced to play an inexperienced ruckmen against THE best centre square ruckman in the game.

plus Yeo demolished us in the guts from start to finish.

I dont think we will win the flag.

premiers rarely make everything look that hard in June.

even our easy goals looked hard

Not sure I understand what you're saying. Cotchin was on the field today.

We played pathetic football and only lost by a goal. Our year will be determined by injuries. Will be our sweetest victory if we win the flag from here....we will come home strong. We only need to play finals and have an ounce of luck. But we will charge home.

Suit happens.
Onto the bye and lets come home like a fuck8ng hurricane.

Hate to say it but atrocious decision making by Dusty in that last quarter.
Yep. Terrible decision making by Dusty. He blew it, along with a few other senior players. He got that ball in the same spot as he drilled that goal against Bombers last week but tried to be cute.

I’m *smile* gutted.

Unless we fix our instead 50's we are doing jack shiit this year.
We cant always expect snaps or mark of the year to win us games.
Where was Cj in the last 30 seconds only Bolton and Aarts where in the forward line

There’s a growing problem that’s been emerging throughout the season: our ability to execute. We miss targets, we miss shots on goal, we fumble too much.

We’re just not clean enough in this new environment.

We’re nowhere near as pressure intense as we used to be and we don’t have the class or execution skills to cover for it when we don’t have an edge to our game.
The lack of pressure thing is league wide I reckon. The yardstick Demons, even their games against Dogs and Lions have had a practice match feel.

The Tiger Kings brain explosion turned the momentum.

We only needed one goal to finish them off or another 40 seconds sheared off the clock.

Its hard to get angry at Dusty after the last 4 years but I agree, he made some ordinary decisions. When he took that mark through the middle and signalled to slow everything down, he should have looked straight away and see we had 2 or 3 racing through on goal, he needed to get the ball over the top of their defence and we'd have run onto it.

The indecision when he kicked to George with what 90 seconds of so left on the clock, he had a player to his left who could have taken a mark, but scrubbed the kick through to George and he gave it back to them (again should have been looking for a mark), and then that kick from what 60m out with 15 seconds to go.

A bit more composure from the great man and we could have won, but we were only in that position due to our lack of ability to compete in the air throughout the 4th.

With rules made to order by Hocking. He's about to become Geelong CEO. He's been allowed to pull a nice little swindle on the rest of the competition.

Where was any tall player that last 10 mins ?

Desperately missed Nank in that respect.
