WEEK 1 FINALS 2021

Just watched the second half.

Footscray's defence looked good in the wet, but maybe that's the problem. They do lack height down back so in a dour game in rain they were good. The other aspect was that Footscray always looked like they had more numbers at the ball, always had an outlet, players shepherd and support each other. Took a fair few half chances in front of goal too. I really can't see them getting to the GF but would be a slight chance to beat Brissie.

Those free kicks to Weightman certainly got some comment here. Far be it for me to defend an umpire, but that first free was so blatantly clear it was not funny. The Essendon player was holding Weightman and dragging him back so he could not contest the mark - too much of this and it needs to be penalised - clear, very clear, holding the man. The second one was a mystery.

Neither team seemed to have any clue about how to handle a wet ball. Not much practice these days I suppose. Footscray played better wet weather football but so many spilled marks.

In our draw pool.... Let's compare the pair when the time comes...
No doubt we get a harder draw.

We'll get a harder draw than the GoDeez Port and they will likely play off in the GF.

Remembering the AFL have it in for us.

Tigers will likely play Port once at AO, WCE once at Optus, Brisbane once at Gabba, and the Swans once at Sydney.

Launceston. They’re not gonna base a Tas side there are they ? Nobody will stay there. They’ll want out in 5 mins.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Dees do a Marlion Pickett with Nathan Jones in the GF. Poor bloke deserves to play in it after 16 years in a sh!t team.

It seems as though Christian will have his revenge on Greene and getting him rubbed out for next week. If GWS lose next week then it is down to his brain fade

So fair to say all the finals games went as Tigers fans would have liked.

Now for Gee Whiz to tip the Sooks out next week and the Dogs to send Old Mate Fago and his Brisflogs on their September holidays.

Funny how commentators commenting on the lopsided free kick count. Cant recall their criticism on Friday night…
