Once again, despite her fetish for accusing people of conflicts, Caro shows she has as big a conflict as anyone.

To take a shot at a young kid with no right of reply like that was pathetic journalism. Yes, he made an enormous mistake but he has copped his whack and has as much right to get on with his life as anyone else does.
Horse *smile*.

The club got fined as a result of his stupidity (equally shared with another fool).

He owes the club for sticking by him. What he did wasn't a minor incident, a fight, whilst drunk, after the club had already been warned twice.

We've put multiple years of development into this kid.

He hasn't done much for us yet. Again, horse *smile*. If he walks, he's an *smile*.

Look (Jess, CCJ Manager) here is how we get Richmond to up your offer. State you want to go to North, scare tigers you can get to north via PSD for nothing. Tigers then come back with an enhanced offer. We use North as a pawn in this game of chess. Player management 101

If we don’t want to sign him up for longer than two years then I reckon it has more to do with medium to long term planning around free agency signings. I think they’re planning something big in the next couple of years.

lets not forget our player development program , Richmond Man , aimed at making the young guys into decent young men
in 2018 Hardwick and Balme were real big on the playing group being humble and focused
off field we seemed to be good guys to deal with , no stories likes the Bombers & Dodo
no Buckley and Trelor stuff
B Ellis , Sam Lloyd , A Miles , Markov, Butler went with our blessing and those guys with our current players all seems good
Higgins there seemed to be a little wrinkle
and when I heard Clarke talk about CCJ & Chol recently , it sounded like they would have been told you are wanted and this is what we can offer
and we understand you might get offered more $$'s or longer terms or promised more games and will support your decision
my gut says both Chol & CCJ will behave with dignity and grace and that puts an onus on the club they are going to to behave similarly
because that club wants to look like good guys to the in coming player

Norf have the No. 1 pick in the PSD. we'll probably lose him for nothing if he goes there.
This is the smart play and if I'm Norf, that's how I get him. Bastards. It's well played.

Leveraging any kind of decent pick will be hard. Get 20 and then package up to get inside top 5.

Situation is pretty simple to me.

No room in best 22 next year.

We’ve been honest with him. Maybe too honest.

I reckon Dyer’ere has nailed it. Plans within plans.

Samson looks the goods, so save money on CJ and use the $$ on an extra mid.

Of course we’d like to keep him, but not everyone can play senior footy at a dynasty club.

If he goes to North, I think we all know we won't get the deal that we might want, but what about the below. Maybe the best we can get with North.

Pick 20 and 38
For CCJ and Pick 26

I'm sure they would be pushing for 38, we would want 20, this is the middle ground.

If we get 3rd round compo for Chol, we would have 38, 40, 44 and 45 to trade up the draft or into next year.

Lets say we did the above, then we do the following trade (helps both the Dogs and Pies)

Richmond In - Pick 17, Pies 2022 2nd, Dogs 2022 3rd
Richmond Out - Picks 28, 38, 40, 44 and 45

Dogs In - Picks 28, 38 and 40
Dogs Out - Pick 17, Lipinski and 2022 3rd

Pies In - Picks 44,45 and Lipinski
Pies Out - 2022 2nd

Tiges end up with Picks 7, 15, 17 and 20 at this years draft and lose CJ and Chol, but we also gain an extra 2nd and 3rd for next year.

I think we should keep CJ, but also, if we keep him, he has to be given games, no point otherwise. If we are not willing to play him when both Jack and Lynch are playing then sure, go ahead and trade.

DS
Agree. If he stays Jack would be expected to
spend some time on the couch!
Unlikely in the extreme.
CJ wouldn’t be in this position unless we thought we would be able to manage a better trading position.
Caro has it all wrong.

Prefer the 15, even the 7 upgrade you were proposing the other day.
Right now a very promising ruck forward, actually committing to stay with GC, may be enough.

Did Samson play another game apart from the StKilda game that I must have missed. TBH he looked hopeless at AFL level. CCJ is tracking miles better than Samson.

Quite possibly its going to be another year of Lynchy not doing *smile* and Jack playing acameo to his past self. Oh and CCJ will be playing 23 games for lolnorf.

No, was hits one and only game. HE was grossly under prepared but will take a lot from that, what is needed at AGL level, not get too excited at VFL form and understand the huge step up. He may still be 2-3-4 years away from showing something as all BIG men normally take thest first half or their AGL careers to come into their own. Thats why so many ruckmen get traded. At 18-24 they slow development and the come 25-27yo they start playing good footy.

We have the upper hand as he’s restricted! It’s simple we match the offer first and then negotiate if he wants out !
Nah.... don't think that's right. If he's uncontracted, which he is. He basically 'retires' from Richmond then nominates for the pre season draft.
