I’ll have money on Van Rooyen being gone within the top 20.
You don’t last on the board forever getting BOG in a state game and being an athletic, competitive tall in a very small group of KP defenders.
So IF we want him, we’ll have to at least use pick 20 we receive from Notth at the very latest.
Won’t last till 26.
I agree. That’s why I mentioned we will need to use our Geelong pick if we really want him.

I'm ok with that.
Especially as we will have taken a true mid at 7 (fingers crossed)

There is also Bazzo in the picture

This young bloke sounds alright, has had a quad injury.

He kicked 4 goals as a 16 year old in last years WAFL Colts Grand Final which is an under 19 competition.

Tigers recruiter mentioned him saying he was hoping to get more of a look at him or something of the like.

That told me that he was likely one of our higher end potential targets, as well as everyone else s.

I mentioned this on the Tarrant thread. I have a feeling Clarke is a huge fan of Van Rooyen. I think we take him with Geelongs pick especially if we go mid with pick 7.
I hope so , I like this kid and I'm not entirely sure the exact reason but I do know he can play forward and back which is exactlly what Astbury was when he came to us.
I also see a little of Rance in the way he goes about it, definitely has a touch of prick about him which is a tick from me.
With a number of decent picks and the possibility of more I sure hope we take at least 2 KP types early as I think you can snare good mid types into the 30's this year.

I can see us getting two class mids. Not convinced on the KPPs, and think van Rooyen will be there at 26 anyway. If not, Bazzo.
Personally think JVR will be off the board by then but if you had to choose between the 2 of them @ 26 Spook which one ?

Dunno, Chuck. I'd need to see more of them. JVR can play forward, but I think Bazzo has spent time there too.

Another decent game from Matthew Johnson for Subiaco Reserves yesterday in their semi final win over Swan Districts. 27, 16, 11.

Bad day for Amiss in the Royals loss to the Sharks in the Colts semi final. Jack Williams good for the Sharks.

A good write up comparing Sinn & Callaghan.

I think Johnson will be the first WA player taken on draft night either by Freo’s or WCE first pick.

Exciting times. Our draft hand is strong and likely to get stronger. If we can manage to get dogs pick 17 or 18 and Norths pick 20 (hoping), that's 4 picks within the top 20

Pick 9 - Amiss, Erasmus, Goater
Pick 17 - Sin, Sonsie, Rachele, Butler, Johnson, Roberts, Draper
Picks 19/21 - Roberts, Butler, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Chesser

As much as hes a talented young lad I would not entertain Mac Andrew at our first pic. He's a bean pole (70 kgs), will take 3 years min. Our ruck stocks ain't old, Nank 27, Soldo 25, Samson Ryan 20 years old/206 cms and Colina who may or may not make it but he's 22 years old/ 213 cms

Perception is weird.
On the comparison, you’d argue Sinn is at least the equal of Callaghan if not better.
And seems to have more midfield exposure than Finn. And has leadership ability. What am I missing?
Have a feeling Tigers are very keen on Sinn. And he’s very gettable at 15.

Reading that write up you could definitely argue that Sinn is the better prospect. Both have barely played any footy this year but it’s Callaghan who has risen up the draft board.

Pick 15? Will he last that long? I could also see us pulling trigger on him at 7 especially if the likes of Gibcus, Ward, Hobbs, Erasmus etc are off the board.
