2019 is the only one that we got to see live. 9yo and 11yo in tow, having flown in for the weekend.

That fact we had won it by half time was great. Not only did the boys not have to watch first hand the transformation from father to feral if it wasn't going good, but more importantly the stands turned into a long party. Every goal was celebrated with pure joy. There was no fear, no doubt, just unbounded joy at every goal.

But it doesn't make me cry like 2017 does.

2018 was a missed opportunity. We played our best footy of the era until the final month. Should have been a quadrella of flags.

As much as 2018 hurt considering how dominant we were during the season, if that experience doesn't happen then we don't win in 2019 IMO.

2018 taught us as a club the downfall of peaking too early. We adjusted it for 2019 to perfection. Timing was nearly as good in 2020 too.

But yes, it would have been amazing if we had the quadrella.

2. What moment in each did you think we had it?
17, this is counterintuitive, but Jack Graham's running goal in the second Q. Everything went into slow motion for me. My life flashed before my eyes. I just had this overwhelming feeling we'd win. I said to EZ 'we are on bro!'. I suppressed it, and told myself off, for obvious reasons, but there it was.
19. Dusty's goal in the second Q, game over
20. Dusty's goal on half time. Purely because of his form in finals and the sides form in finals V Geelong. You could feel us lift and them deflate, and you could feel it in the stands too amongst the fans.

Same, 2017 was the pinnacle, no doubt what so ever.

Favourite moments
Georgies runs in the 2019.
He had the turbo on and none of the GWS players could keep up with him.
I had him 3 best on ground
Behind Martin and Houli

Favourite moments. ‘17 Towner’s tackle on Crouch. That was where we stood up and said ‘give us all you got! We’re not taking prisoners here!’
‘19 Rioli’s goal in the first quarter, weirdly that was when I knew we were going to win it.
‘20 Dusty’s goal at the end. He surrounded 5 Geelong players and kicked what I still think is the best goal I’ve ever seen.

At the 2017 final against the Moggies sitting next to a supporter decked out in yellow and black who came from Japan ,who in excitable broken english after each goal scored said "We kick one more we will win"

Late in the 2nd quarter, 2020 gabba GF, i turned to snake, ezj, mrs ez,

Ashen-faced apparently,

And said

'I think we might be gone?'

Fast forward 60 seconds, dustys goal,

'I think we might be home?' I grinned.

Thats probably my favourite dynasty moment .... being delivered from evil, amen

The best moment in the Dynasty was the moment when it all began.

2017 QF v Geelong.- third quarter. Astbury cut off a loose kick forward, kicked in hope in the general direction of Tom Stewart and the Great One. We saw a clean pickup, a Don‘t Argue, a stumble, a run, a kick towards JR. He allowed it to bounce, then used his body to push his opponent away. We saw another clean pickup and a blind turn. These moves were all things of such exquisite beauty!

We looked up in hope towards the goals and there he was! Prestia had run speculatively to the goal square! We could only guess what he was thinking. When he saw The Great One and Stewart lope towards the ball on the half back flank, did he know who would win that battle and choose to run forward, ahead of the play? When he saw JR hip his opponent out at half forward, did he choose to run past, knowing again who would win that battle?

History was upon us! He marked, ran on, kicked the goal and every *smile* monkey that was even on our great club’s back was gone, punted through the big sticks. They ran and scattered, as if pursued by the Angel of a death. It was Biblical!

All was right in the world again! Has there ever been a sweeter moment?

Truly magnificent for sure.
Don’t know about sweeter than 17 QF but just as sweet were the special moments during the 19 PF and 20 GF
It’s just the fact that each of the three flags can be explained back to doing over Geelong

Probably the highlight for me was the noise before the semi against cats in 2017. The ferocity was unexpected, and probably never heard before. the prelim might have been louder, but to me that was slightly staged.

i remember someone next to me saying we had it won , maybe late in the 3rd, my response was "NO, not yet". i dont think I was completely certain until really late. 2017 will always be the best.

I’ve never posted about my experience in 2017 on PRE before.

Had GF guarantee so could only get one seat. Made my way to near the top of the Northern Stand. Three lovely and somewhat attractive young ladies in front of me. Got talking before the game. One had just flown in from the UK for the GF. Talked, laughed, drank through the first half. At half time they showed me a photo of them and their brother as very young children around the 1980 cup. Into the third quarter and I said stop holding out on me - who is your old man? They were Saint Francis’s daughters! Drank, talked, cuddled, celebrated and cried together through the rest of the game and after match presentation. Even got my head on a FaceTime call to their mum who was situated somewhere else in the G with Francis. It just made 2017 that little bit more special.

1. 2017 - you just can't beat the the feeling in the last quarter when I finally let myself believe we would win after 37 years.....I couldn't stop crying from that point to the singing of the song (which I reckon played at least 10 times after the game)

2. 2020 - the game was more impressive than 2017 and our ability to come back was more impressive than what we did in 2017. My first B2B in my lifetime. Plus it was in my own backyard. It should be my number 1 but I can't let it beat 2017. I have separated them on the length of time I was in tears after the game....2020 tears only lasted a few mins.

3. 2019 - only one I didn't see live. Looked like a perfect day for footy but the ease in which we did it probably makes it less memorable for me. We played schmick footy that day though.
