Pick 29: Shai Bolton

Bolton is a very good forward ,and decent pinch hitter in the midfield ,but he's not a permanent midfielder ,think Cyril Rioli ,Shai is very much the same type.

Maybe, maybe not, Shai trained with a PT in off-season with the aim to play more midfield. The last month Shai has been managed at training probably 1 1/4 sessions to others 2, Peter Burge said they are managing a hip issue with Shai.
Still think he has the capacity to be more than a pinch hitter, we are certainly more dynamic when he is there.

He's dynamic when he's in the midfield with his run and spread ,but he's not very consistent and l don't think he has the endurance to be a full time mid.
He's very very dangerous as a forward ,he is a quality small forward who could kick 50 goals in a season if he's played there more permanent .

Unbelievably electric is Bolton. Doesn't need a lot of it to tear the game apart. Who was the last player we called Magic. 20 disposals, 10 score involvements. 13 contested possessions, 5 clearances. And possibly goal of the year.

Best player at the club by a country mile.
Electric and unbelievably skilful.
We are screwed because Bolton will easily command 1 mill a season on his next contract

Absolute superstar Zips.

He might not hold us to ransom though. We've set up a really good environment for the indigenous boys, he seems to love playing for us.

Compare that to the crap Cyril is going through

It will be interesting to see if he signs straight away or Ralphy bends us over

Tigers should get Cyril down as a mentor for all the boys not just the Aboriginal lads.

He could be amazing, especially for Junior.

Marlion looks like he stepped up as a leader around the team, which is fantastic.

Daniel has his spark back too which is huge for the team, and Shai is just a star.

C mon Syd your the only missing piece of the puzzle pull ya finger out.

Not if he doesn't play more midfield time he won't.

That's the challenge for Shai. He's flitted in and out of games this season with flashes of brilliance. Needs to put it all together and stay involved in games for longer.

You could list Cyril Rioli's 30 disposal games on two hands. Probably one. Shai Bolton is not there and will not be paid $1m a season to accumulate. He is there to eff *smile* up.

It is a shame that Nathan Buckley knows Shai is "already a star of the game" and some of our supporters don't

I didn't say he isn't a star. I've been one of his biggest supporters. He's just not going to be worth $1m a year if he's playing forward pocket with stints in the midfield as he is now. If anyone thinks otherwise, all I can say is I'm glad you're not in charge of our contract negotiations and salary cap.
