Richmond vs Essendon (Dreamtime 2022)

The worst umpiring performance in 57 years of watching this game. Over umpired, biased, inept, call it what you want.
Happy the tiges got the result, but geez, when is the club, going to make a stand.

What can they do? If we complain we’re whingers, and they won’t listen, anyway. The umpires are never wrong.

Felt like there was 600 frees.

I didn't enjoy that game at all! always had that feeling we would get a free kick against and the jeers were well deserved for the umps tonight.

More key injuries but it's great to watch Mojo and Drizzy do their thing. Bolton is a scary talent too.

At the game tonight. Umpiring was atrocious. Holding on to players, over the shoulders, in the back, ridden into the ground, ridiculous 50metre penalties. Field umpire calling for a touched review when goal umpire and all of us could see it was clearly touched. Could go on and on. The worst of all was the obvious incorrect disposal after a perfect tackle called a dangerous tackle closely followed by Bolton's disallowed goal then paid a 50m penalty. It wasn't a free and there is no way Bolton could have heard the whistle as the crowd of 70k was going wild in anticipation. The stats will show 20 frees to 25 but it was so much worse than that.

Police are this evening investigating the homicide of Australian Football after a body was found at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. A man is currently in custody and is facing questioning over the incident. The act is believed to be premeditated and comes after several years of complaints against the man and amid concerns raised by the community that appear to have fallen on deaf ears.

Australian Football was believed to be in it’s 163rd year and will be widely mourned.
Definitely a state funeral.

Dons were totally outplayed tonight. They have no system whatsoever or if they did it was totally broken down by our immense pressure.

Am in love with Baker. He was unbelievable tonight. Is definitely back to his irresistible best.

That was hard to watch. A great win diminished by the abysmal work of the umps. Really made it almost unenjoyable.

Just got home. Exhausted. Game was hard going - our play plus the endless, week to week bias we have to cop made it very frustrating.

Should have belted them by 10 goals but for terrible skills and execution, drop offs and a second team in green trying to stifle us.

D. Rioli, Baker fantastic. Soldo, Nank tough in the air. Vlaus good. Jack ok. Shai ok. Meatball good but not best on ground for me. Thought Bakes and D.Rioli were better.

Need to find a gear or two next week.

Agreed. It was putrid viewing. Felt like the umpires had involvement in every singe play. All you can hear now is them dictating and if you’re in the crowd you have NFI about what’s happening on field anymore.
