Jack clearly outlined the chief KPI for Sydney: win the ground ball. He won about 10 today, a few spectacularly. 21 touches playing forward, had a hand in several goals, kicked a nice one himself. Real good game.

The first quarter, like most of the season, he struggled to get a handle on it. The second half in particular was like something clicked and he was sweeping the ball off the deck like some kind of Liam Baker.

Played very well today as did others like Aarts Ross etc. Hope he gets called up for the Geelong game as unlike the other two his skill level is at AFL level rather than simply at a level which is better than Coburg's.

Cumberland kicked another 3 goals, I liked the defensive part of his game today, keep that up and he'll be close to getting a game.

Edit

Just realised I posted in the wrong thread.

Syd's best game of the year and in the role the club desperately needs, played the George role well pressure half forward roaming to the wing and back, (goes to show he can do it!).
George was good today too but Syd was better.

There’s poetry in the way he plays.
I’ve endured arguments, the debates, the endless diatribe from his supporters and detractors.
It wears you down.
And then I see the one handed pick up and hand ball fired out in one action at top end speed and I feel reinvigorated.
He’s every reason I fell in love with football. The beautiful game when it’s played like that

Yeh, and his kicking is a delight. He's a footballer.

Yeh, and his kicking is a delight. He's a footballer.
In a game now dominated by athletes.
Can only imagine what he would have been like playing in the 90s when you had that little bit of extra time.
Apart from his kicking, he’s also as good in the air as any small player in the game, bar perhaps JElliot and TGreen.
