Game day Tigers v Eagles

Thought we did well to win comfortably after being challenged after Dusty went off.

Clearance remains an issue against better teams and today Nic Nat, Kelly (probably his best game ever for West Coast), Yeo and others showed us up at centre clearance contest. Great sign though that we steadied in the last quarter.

Lots to like - Pickett & Dan Rioli outstanding, McIntosh - just gives, Baker good after quiet first quarter - just a new star, Bolton got better over the game - possibly our No. 1 player now, Tarrant improving in a steady defence and Short & Ross solid.

Disappointed in Soldo - first five minutes of third quarter was the worst of his career - Nic Nat made him look second rate. Poor games from Rioli jnr & Castagna (why not Stack or Cumberland instead?), Ralphsmith still kicks the ball abysmally & Edwards is barely hanging on. Lambert was ineffectual when he came on against a quality contested ball midfield which is so sad to see - injury has cruelled a truly great player.

Into the final seven games & let’s hope we can get our best team onto the ground - we’re still a chance if we do.

Sounds like there was a lot of dribble through the game day thread through the game. I won't read back on it.

Decent game, but at times we were beaten far too easily out of the middle particularly in the 2nd half. Nic Nat gives them so much more presence in the ruck.

Great games from Pickett and Dan Rioli. Martin was awesome in the 1st half, back to what we all remember Dusty as, shame about the hamstring tightness, hopefully it was precautionary.

Jack is right now at the cop shop, filing some rape charges against Bazzo, the amount of times he was touching him through the game was ridiculous, no wonder he didn't have a lot of touches, bloody hard when the defender won't let go of you and the umpires refuse to pay frees for it. Having watched Bazzo and SDK last week, I'm happy with the way we are trying to teach Gibcus the game, without having to cheat to win the ball.

Good win, without our 3 premier mids, 2 for the whole game.

Vlaustin played his worst game ever. *smile* embarrassing from a senior player and likely to get a weeks holiday from the MRO
Castagna should never have been picked. Stuff u Dimma you clown. Every time he touched it he turned it over
Lambert is a stuffen liability. Can't bend over so why the hell is he playing?
Ross and Soldo are VFL level footballers.
Lynch got his arse handed to him. So disappointing.
When a fat prick like Nic Nat can dominate and Kelly picks up 40 touches u know something is wrong with the team

Pickett, Rioli x2, Broad, Grimes, Bolton, Shedda and McIntosh were good. The rest can get rooted.

So, happy with the win Kong?

I missed the Vlaustin incident. What happened that could put him in trouble? I was in the loo!

Gave his opponent a quick dig to the mid section and he went down like he was shot and they got a 50 metre penalty. Hard to know how hard it was but I suspect a fine

Just feels like it was always going to be one of those games. Eagles have been good last few weeks… we were pretty flat today but got the job done with relative ease to be honest. I didn’t love what I saw but thinking back to last week the football was miles apart. Got the 4 points which right now is the only thing that matters. Next

Oh was that what the 50 was given when that prick Waterman flung his head back like he'd been snipered in the crowd, just after Jack had his head smashed in in front of goal and had HTB paid against him?

The umps were quite good today, but that was an awful swing in play

Not sure, was the eagles last goal late in the last

For those wondering how far umps will reward Selwooding. Ginnivan every time but not Jack.

Cripps was on him after half time 100%
And Rioli was on Stengle.
Rioli was 5 metres behind Stengle when he kicked back to Henry.
If your a defender, you defend,
He can't be like Hill and Sinclair, get easy ball off half back but cop it going the other way.
Move Short or Baker back and move Rioli to the Wing
Watch the game again. I watched Rioli vs Cripps closely in the 3rd and Rioli was fantastic, defended when he should have. Cripps did kick 2 goals, both could have easily gone either side of the post. 1st goal Rioli had to make a decision and leave his man to pressure Kelly running in. 2nd goal Rioli was off the ground. Moving Rioli to the wing is one of the sillier things I've heard in a while. He'd be close to B&F.
