2022 Draft Thread

No go for Fothergill Round medalist Ethan Phillips or TAC TOTY first on baller Mitch Szybowski and All Australian Adam D'Alolia.

Both are nice kicks. Size the issue with Green. But everyone said that about Bakes….
That description of him says he hits the ball hard and tackles those bigger than him harder. Maybe the size of the bark in the dog on this one.

We need talls but no point taking them if you don’t think they are much chop. Would rather have a good smaller player. And the talls on offer were from SA and I reckon we learnt our lesson with CCJ. As a rule SA talls are ordinary.
Completely agree, just saying I suspect our preference was to go tall but all our choices were off the table by the time our picks came around.

Right now, it looks like we had a pretty bad night. Two midgets, no talls, long delays in making our choices.

That’s not to say Green or Smith can’t be good players but I suspect they were not our first, second or even third choices.
I reckon you're right, my first choices were Cadman and Ashcroft.

It's a really good point, which makes me think it's got to be due to development in SA. I mean, the water is *smile*,so it could be that - but can't be exclusively that.

Just reading between the lines, maybe they see Szybkowski as a bit of an introvert ala RCD and a bit on the lazy side.

Tigers no choice but to start looking at talls.

The club could lose 4 at the end of 2023.

JR8 retired

Taz retired

Grimes ,might also retire.

Bauer only has contract for 2023

Nyuon unlikely to make it for mine either.

Obviously we all would have liked some developing talls, clearly our recruiters weren't happy with who was left.

Watching the Foxtel coverage, they had Smith ranked elite in all 5 categories that they showed for a small defender, from memory they were disposals, contested possessions, kicking efficiency, intercept marks and intercepts. With the pace he has, could be another great addition to our speed out of the back line.

Steely - another Bakes please.

We've done superbly with our late picks out of WA, lets hope we have a couple more here.

FWIW, I reckon we take either 1 or 2 rookie picks tomorrow and hold 1 or 2 spots open for the Pre season supplement period. If we don't pick up talls with the rookie picks, expect us to invite a few down for pre-season training for review for those last 1 or 2 list spots.

What about Colina? He's a lock.

Did I hear right that next year's draft is supposed to be a good one for talls?

He didn’t look too happy prior to our first pick. Almost looked like he had a crack at Matt ?
How could he have a crack at Matt? Blair traded the picks away and left Matt the weak hand.
