Hope they’re keeping a keen eye on Archie May from our VFL team.
The kid has something. Attitude and a great boot for a start
Shhhh, don't know who you're talking about, there's Essendumb infiltrators on here :censored:
Was an eye opening fifth quarter Friday night :eyes

Certainly took a couple of nice grabs and goals

would anybody have his age height and weight

Hope they’re keeping a keen eye on Archie May from our VFL team.

The same loved the size, the hands were great, kicking looked clean but mate, the Tiges are playing hide and seek with this boy :censored: I already want him!!

I found an 'ARCHER MAY', I can't find an 'Archie May' anywhere.
'Archer May' nominated for the 2022 AFL Draft below - 27/08/2004 - Sandringham Dragons.

There's an article re Sandy beating the Jets by 40 points, the line below says Archer May rucked with Ben Andrews, he looked a big boy at 18 last Friday night and would ruck and play forward in these junior leagues I'm thinking
The Ashcroft they're referring to below debuted with him is Levi Ashcroft, Will's younger brother played his first game as well.

Now it gets interesting, I found Sandy's game versus the Jets 'Archer May' debuted in and three players names only show as "Private Player', see below.
I'm assuming Archer May is one of the 'Private Player's as he played that game.

This is Sandy's goalkickers the next week versus GWS Rebels, see all the 'Private Players', a couple kicked goals. He's one of them!! :eyes:LOL:

It appears like that until the end of the year, these Private Players keep getting games and kicking some goals.

Versus Gippsland Power - Preivate Players at the bottom kicked 3 and 2 goals

Now here's my wild assumption. Number 45 below on the left of the screen - 'Private Player' - for Sandringham played 6 games and kicked 12 goals.
I'm going with it's him as from the Western Jets game until the end of the year, Levi Ashcroft who debuted the same week as Archer May also played 6 games for Sandy. SO I reckon they both played 6 out of the 10, being younger players

Man, seriously been looking for something on him since Friday and if it's him - "Archer May" there's not much else out there, unless somebody knows Sandringham Dragons or whatever club the 'real' Archie/Archer May plays for would be greatly appreciated :)

And if it's not him, apologies and good luck in your footy career Archer May. We'll take you in next years draft! :mhihi

Must say, the timing of the Castagna decision is very odd. Not having the option to grab Narkle or someone else is less than ideal.

Is the play to elevate Campbell right away?

Think we’d wait a bit longer before elevating anybody wouldn’t we ? ie confirm form and/or positional replacements for injuries.

Do rookies still need to be elevated? I dont think they do.

Not sure regarding Campbell.

But I have a feeling, nothing more, that we have gone cold on Narkle.

Reckon this has actually worked in our favour. We have a spot on our list for a mid season top up. Perfect.

With Georges retirement just 12 days after the SSP cut off date makes me wonder whether the push comes for SSPlayers being eligible to be drafted at any time.

We are now down 1 player on the list til June. Yes we still have 41 players and we,ll cope but it seems silly you can be a player(s) down between Feb 15 and June 15.

Ahh, you are right, forget about that change. We wait for mid-season draft.

Already three gone at years end, Jack, Trent & George.

Trent? Possibly but certainly no knock. Tarrant a greater chance ILO.

A few people are saying this. Not odd at all for Leysy.

It is very clear from listening to George has been battling the mental pressures of the game to the extent he lost all enjoyment for the game and has impacted his life outside football. It has obviously finally got too much. You can't time mental battles.

He has also been very transparent with the key leaders at the club (especially Blair) on these for many months. It hasn't been sprung on that club and being who we are Blair would have supported him and told him to take his time and be 100% sure before making the call.

Also think the club was always considering keeping a spot open (if it had one) than take Narkle. Dimma alluded to as much.

Same. Only other possible links I could find are to Brighton Grammar and prior to that St Kilda City Junior Football Club.

Yeh Brighton Grammar got a link. One of the House Vice-Captains for 2022 (y)
Second from the left, back row. Who's that taller black next to him, can he play?:ROFLMAO:

1677576868366.png
Back (L-R): Jack Puise, Archie May

Brighton Grammars' a pretty good school - the Bassat brothers - founder of SEEK, Doug Warbrick - founder of Rip Curl, Dylan Alcott Paralympian, Will Ashcroft, Josh Kelly, Andrew McGrath, Christian Salem, Albert Thurgood - jeez he's probably the first Footy superstar, have to do a story of him one day :giggle: Will Thursfield ;) Jack Watts, Will Pucovski, Archie Perkins.

The kid's done well to be a Vice-Captain at that school. Let's keep him man!! :eyes

Appreciate the work you’ve done on this Magic.
I’m looking forward to seeing his follow up game this weekend in the curtain raiser at Casey Fields.
If he banks another similar performance it’s fair to say he’d be on a few clubs radars.
Be interesting to know the knocks on him that prevented him getting drafted because from what I’ve seen so far, he appears to have some serious tools.

Cheers pal, I enjoy researching, it's kind of my work job too

Younger talls take time, at least half the talls take so much longer than the smalls and medium sized players.

I keep referring to Max Gawn - his first full season was in 2016......he was aged 25.

Played four years before that but just 4, 13, 9 13 games.

I think they have to get through the growing pains and body issues, limbs keep growing, your stretching different parts of your body that you're not sued to doing before hand.

Played just 181 games at 31 years old, he's on the backend of his career. Hopefully Archer/Archie does half of what he has done :eyes

How tall is this kid ?

Any draft combone type info anywhere ?

Came from nowhere it looks like

Archie May played junior footy prior to covid and rowed for his school the last two years in the 1st VIII crew. Also played 1st VIII football last year, the first year out of covid, so looks to have been juggling two sports.

This will be his first preseason of football.
