I reckon if Riewoldt wasn't so smart he would have been retired two years ago. At some point he is going to hit the point where the balance tips too far physically that it doesn't matter how smart he is. Sooner than later.
Been saying the same. He's a lighter, much smarter Lance Whitnall (uses smarts to get the best position to win the footy). Eventually though, the body let's the brains down.

Jack looked like he was there for the pay packet on Saturday. Could be that he only wanted a run. Could be that the oppo are now better than him.
Disrespectful. The man bleeds for Richmond and has carried the forward line for years before Lynch and when Lynch is out. I don’t think all Richmond supporters realise just how good he has been and is

Rather play Ryan over Jack , I think he’ll get better as season goes on . It’s only early , however Jack just seems to get slower each game

Why not play both?

HF Martin Lynch Cumberland
F MJR Ryan Riewoldt
Reckon it’s pretty obvious why not play both , we would become way to slow forward and not have anywhere near enough defensive forward pressure . Hope I’m wrong but Jack playing on I think is a mistake , in saying that it’s obvious why he and the club agreed for him to give it one more year . I think will see Bolton forward a lot as well

We just don’t have the tall forwards who can take a mark and hold ball in forward line That’s how AFL is being played ATM
Defensive forwards can’t keep ballin forward line as our forwards are constantly out marked
IMO we need another genuine tall other than Lynch he can’t do it all

I don’t disagree on that bt, however imho we don’t have anyone on the list other then Lynch who can consistently take contested marks inside the forward 50 , much different to a defensive contested mark , so the way I see it is use our strengths I.e Martin, Bolton, Cumberland try finding 3 defenders to match up on those 3 while trying to double team Lynch at the same time , I like the thought of Ryan as Lynch’s assistant as he should get a lot of arm chopping hence free kicks because of his size and athleticism, Jack dosent get that and Jack can’t ruck, Miller to me just dosent mark well enough as a forward and Soldo just didn’t do what we hoped as a forward last year.

Not disrespectful at all.

Did you think he played well on Saturday? His performance had nothing to do with his past and whether he bleeds yellow and black. That is undisputed. It was an observation on what he provided to the team on the day.

Let me put it this way, if he didn’t play on Saturday he would not have been missed. That was his level and involvement in the game.

Hopefully come round 1 we see the real Jack.

It was a glorified training run in the heat. After everything he has done why would you even bother judging him on this? He works his arse off in every real game and is very tough to play on. Practice match, practice- look it up

Yet others came and performed. Same heat, same conditions. I judged him on this one game where he had a spot that someone else could have filled for experience. Bauer maybe? For some reason you are happy with his output. I’m not.

Personally if i was Dimma then i am playing all 3 in Ryan , Riewoldt & Lynch

Carlton really only have 2 KPD in Wietering & Young and with the extra umpire the defenders have no tools to defend big fowards and with all 3 Richmond will be stretching Carltons defence

With the extra bench spot 3 KPF in the team you have the opportunity to rotate of the bench

The way i am reading this thats the way most clubs will be looking to play

Come on he has the credits. He knows what he needs to do. Maybe he had a quiet one . Bauer has been injured
