What's Ol' Fages doing sitting in the box? Doesn't he coach from the boundary?

Easily the best performance of his short career. Power and skill. Exciting for Poort.

It was good business for Norf because he was leaving. GWS got picks 14 and 21 for a former pick 2 who'd won a B&F in a grand final team and led all-comers in that GF for disposals and contested possessions. Norf got picks 2 and 3 for a disruptive wantaway pick 1 who hadn't done anything. Sheezel will be a star, oozes class. I have big wraps on Wardlaw too.
I agree it was “good business” ….on paper. But they now have to make these selections work.

Clarko was brilliant giving Sheezel a relatively unaccountable clearance role off half back today but let’s see how that goes when opposition teams are prepared for that move.

Wardlaw has had a lot of injuries and isn’t a great kick. Let’s see how that works out over the long term when he actually plays.

Apart from our result, this has been a great first round of football.

Intrigued to see how the Talldogs go.

Welcome to our world Port .

Frees now 21-4. But if course there'll be no evening up of the frees in the second half ...
Frees ended up 25-12. So Brissy only earns 4 frees in the second half after earning 21 in the first half. Port earned 8 frees in the second half after only earning 4 in the first half.

How good are the aboriginal kids these days?
Our boys
Ryan WC, Rioli Port, Pickett Melbourne and the new kid at Collingwood blitzed it.

Unfortunately JHF looks like he might be as good as imagined. This is bad.
Good that thew Kochies get their hopes up before they crash and good that the Bears enter week 2 with 0 points and 2 behind the RFC. Same for the Moggies.

Add one of Deez and Dogs and things arent too bad.

Obviously we all prefer Tigers to be 4 points ahead of them all but 2 is better than none. Tigers must get the 4 next week and prime themselves for the Skunks.

Could be totally wrong , however each time I’ve seen the Dees in last couple of years , they seem to rely on the Oliver, Gawn and Petracca to win Clearences , then have very good speed and foot skills around the ground , also seem to have Lever lose and Gawn a kick behind play.

I think we need to adapt a little of this , not the over possesing the tight ball

Melb vs WB early observations
Clarry has a new doo, maybe he should go for an afro…no improvement in the looks department
Lil Caleb Daniel sporting some arm tatts..probably done by George. His arms are only a foot long.

Umps are up to the usual standard …*smile*….and won’t get any better
